I doubt there's anything wrong with it so long as it's in moderation. I started drinking a little here and there when I was thirteen... and just look at me now. ^_^

Seeing as the drinking age in most countries is 18 and he is 17. It won't do anything to him unless he has a ton(but then it has an effect on anyone then).

A lot of people start to drink around 15 so it isn't uncommon.

17 isn't that bad, considering most people around here start drinking in middle school, as sad as that is.

Its all good man.

Most parts of the world the drinking age is around 18 so hes clearly not that far from the legal age, and unless hes a sissie hes definitely in the appropriate biological state to be drinking.

The legal age in most countries outside of the US is 18. And obviously teenagers all drink prior to that age. So really he's only 12 months behind what is considered normal. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Why do people even drink in the first place? I'm a teetotaller for the simple reason that there are plenty of great things to drink that don't mess you up.

His liver will not explode, if he drinks every day excessively, then you will encounter liver failiure. Which will most likely end up in a liver transplant, or death.

-You only don't give a crap about anything when you're drunk, alcohol doesn't permanently affect your personality in any way

-I'm far from lazy

-Beer actually doesn't have any fat in it. A beer belly only comes from people who eat greasy food with their beer, it's not from the beer itself

-I guess you'd sleep if you're hung over, but whatever

I'm not saying you should drink or anything, but it doesn't cause any of the things you listed either.

-I care about a lot of things and I'm usually an incredibly stressed individual even though I drink heavily.
-I run 4 - 7 miles daily and I am one of the fastest workers in my kitchen even when I'm drunk or hungover, hardly lazy.
-I'm bigger than your average guy but thats not because I drink, I was always a larger than normal individual and my belly is far from big.
-I rarely sleep more than 5 hours as long as I'm not depressed even after drinking.

I know I'm not everybody but your generalization is a far cry from what real drinkers are, even more so than mine. In fact, in my experience, I've concluded that smoking weed is probably worse for you than drinking on the whole.

17 years not is kind of late really. Most people started into drinking by the age of 12 or 13 and were smoking pot a couple years later. But there is always people that just drink for the fun of it with their mates, and not to get pissed drunk. That is probably what your brother is doing since he is only starting at the age of 17. I wouldn't worry about him, or is health.

I started drinking at about 16... nothing ever too serious until I had alcohol poisoning when I was 17. That set me straight, needless to say.

So long as he knows his limits and understands his priorities in life, I see no problem with it.

Well it's not the gas but the gas can cause your stomach to expand which means you can fit more in there. So yeah, the gas can make you fatter but it's primarily the sugar and the caffeine.

Which is another thing people do not realize. Caffeine might make your heart race and all the good stuff but it actually stimulates the production of the same type of fat build up generated by high stress.

Im pretty sure it was the other guy who claimed beer couldnt make you fat.

I was just pointing out that it's not the CO2 that caused people to gain weight.

Soda is unhealthy because it's all sugar.

Beer gives you a "beer belly" because it stimulates your appetite, making you want to eat more.

Most beer has anywhere between 125 and 250 calories per can/bottle, 125 is the low end.
