I got a 187, which translates into a 1870 on the real SAT. And it doesn't really matter. The only scholarship you can get from it is the national merit one. And for that you would have had to be in the 96 percentile and above 200.
And you got a good score. About 200 points above average.
Isn't the PSAT just a practise test? I didn't think you could get anything but a general idea of how you'd do on the SAT from doing a PSAT.Theokhothive been told that you can get a scholarship if you do really well on the psat :? but i have another chance next year.

the real question though is what does this mean in the way of scholarships? and if scholarships are determined by percentile, mine was 85.Xeros606
176 is a respectable score, definitely above average. Unfortunately, you will not be getting scholarships with that score. You generally have to score in (though it varies from year to year), as other people mentioned, at least in the 96-97th percentile.
[QUOTE="rockguy92"][QUOTE="Chefboyrd03"]176?! arent the sat's out of 2400? kemar7856"P"SAT LOL if you got a 176 on the sat just quit life but he means psat Especially considering it is impossible to get below a 200.

Depends on whether or not you sign your name correctly. >_>
they give you points for writing your name? :?[QUOTE="Theokhoth"][QUOTE="vendettared468"] Especially considering it is impossible to get below a 200.Xeros606

they give you points for writing your name? :?Yep. That's what I heard, anyway. Sign your name correctly and you have 200 points.

people always say this, and it's not true. the PSAT is like the same damn thing as the SAT only the score is a digit off. you do not get points for putting on your name. the PSAT is almost exactly the same as the SAT, and in terms of scoring there may as well be no difference except the SAT always has a zero on the end (which is why I don't know why someone would ridicule the score of a 176 on the SAT if that score is impossible to get)how is 198 if my 2 dream dream colleges are cornell and georgetown (and i think i can get it up to 210/2100).zxvbyou could get in but you probably wouldn't on those scores, but then it's more than scores anyway. I mean, you almost certainly wouldn't get in on those scores.

I mean, it's a rat race for college admissions. those are schools that thousands of kids beyond that profile get rejected for. there are simply other schools.
