if you saw my other topic my sister crashed my car and I may need a new one, I have 2 suggestions.

300zx

or

323ci

I think the 300zx has the styling advantage, as well as quite a bit more power and less kms, but its 10 years older...

The 323ci is newer, and my car was a BMW so I kind of want to continue that but it does cost more

I guess it comes down to if my car is totaled or not and what I get back if it is.

if i get less than 7700 then I guess ill get the 300zx

it seems that i like them both pretty much equally, i need someone elses opinion

I think that Nissan looks lamer than hell, and I usually love cars like that. I am gonna get the BMW 323. Just my opinion though.

It depends. If you want luxury go with the BMW. If you want sporty go with the 300. Honestly though I would NEVERpay that much for a 10 year old 300. Try cardomain.com and check their used section or try craigslist. Honestly I'm a huge sports car fan so I'd go with the 300 if you could find it between 3-5k. It has a ton of potential and I'm sure insurance is lower and plus it's t-tops. Who doesn't love t-tops?

Seriously dude, I wouldn't get either. The 20 year old Nissan is just way too old. The decade old Bimmer will be a to nightmare. It's old enough that everything will start breaking on it, and the repairs are expensive as hell. Especially now since they haven't made that era of Bimmer in years.

that BMW slow man! i smoke that 323ci on my 2002 lexus GS300. But its just depends on your style. If you want sport fast buy the 300zx and if you want LUX then go with the 323ci but i suggest you get a GS300 if you gonna pay that prize for the 323ci. Plus you can fix up a GS300 better also

well, i am 16, and most other kids in my school get by with their 20 year old cars, and this Z is ridiculous fast, faster than the 350z even, not sure if its faster than the 370z though im leaning towards the Z since it is cheaper and has better customer reviews

In your price range there are newer and better cars you can get. If you're ok with the Bimmer being in the shop more than it's in your driveway then go for it. I hope your folks are ok with the crazy repair bills also. I've made the mistake of buying older expensive cars and it's not fun.

i checked the kelly blue book suggested price and its $5600, and this car comes with another set of tires as well as an alarm system and its RHD, which i admit, will pay a few hundred $ for that too

Oh I ddidn't see the location. Well have you checked out a camaro? You can probably get like a 97-2000 for cheaper and it looks more bad ass imo and T-tops also. Also sports a 330hp V8 if you find that models.

Why because it's Japanese? I hate the term ricer. It is dumb as it's basically just insulting other peoples taste.

BTW I love that Vette... Wish I had $$$ :( I will own a C5 1 day though.

Is there a reason why you are thinking about spending $7,700 CDN on a car that is 10 years old with almost 80,000 miles on it?

Not trying to start an argument, but what looks ricey about it? Usually people throw around the ricer words for slow cars that sounds like they are about to explode and have a million body attachments to them confusing others to thinking they are spaceships and this car lacks all of that. lol

that is exactly what 'ricer' means, its a car that is all look and no performance a 300zx would be classified as a tuner since it performs, and BTW this 300zx doesn't even have any body attachments or altezza lights or other stupid sh**, so its not even close to ricer and fragstains...i checked the kbb on a 2000 BMW and it was like $9k. i figure since it was the first model year of the e46, there were more problems with it also, there was nothing wrong with my 94' BMW in the 2 months i owned it

Well since no ones responding I'd saycheck out a Maro V8 330 hp T-tops and it looks better and has more power. Youtube videos of Maros and their exhaust etc. It will be cheaper in the long run and it looks better.

I'd go with the Nissan 300ZX man. It's cheaper, it looks better, it has less mileage. The BMW's advantage is that it is a newer car but it has been run harder (more mileage in a shorter space of time). That is just my opinion. Good luck making a decision! :)

Edit: Just realizing you are 16. Shouldn't you maybe get something abit less power?Your 16, Male and I am guessing that if you only had your car for 2 months then you just recently passed your test?

yah, i just saw that my parents 2001 Jimmy had like a ton of repairs needed, and i didnt want to deal with something like that I am 90% sure that I will get the 300zx TT if my car is totaled and I get a decent settlement; i just love to see peoples heads turn. hehe

Are you seriously telling ME that? As a 16 year old I want MORE power, and trust me I know when it is safe(er) to open it up. I live in the country so I won't be in the city THAT often, which is where most of the accidents happen. Anyways...I found another 300zx and it will work just fine

Ok stay away from both, you're 16 and are trying to buy a car based on looks and coolness factor swallow your pride and be a little bit more realistic. (sorry if it sounds harsh.) The 300z, great car, but it's 20 years old unless you are a mechanic it'll be in and out of the repair shop, you could even have it for a year or two with nothing major and out nowhere it'll blow a head gasket. Buying a car that old is asking for trouble. The beamer...oh beamers imo not very good cars it's still a 10 year old car and beamers aren't known to last plus the repairs are very expensive. Buy the newest car you can and try to get the most car for your money. I would personally suggest (with the cash you have) to get a ford or a chevy, swallow your pride and get a car that will last. ( I know people will laugh at the american car suggestion, but they are good cars and the repairs are cheap).

Seems like you and me have similar car taste :) ...well my dad owns a 2000 BMW 323 Ci and I have to say that it is an awesome car to drive, its acceleration is pretty good and it can get to 160mph although with it now being a 10 year old car I wouldn't advice doing that.(btw we when it topped 160 we were racing a porsche boxter and beat it) The big problem with the BMW or at least the one in my home is that as of 3 years ago it has given us some problems: we have had to fix the air conditioner once or twice, the interior is sort of in decaying mode, starter problems but these are all problems you'll encounter in any old car. Also the parts are overpriced but at least the BMW service places are pretty cool at least where I live. The BMW is still believe or not a head turner. On the other hand the 300ZK is a pretty cool car and fast if you get the twin turbo version but get ready to probably spend lots of money on getting it up to date.

Yah man, the 300zx i am looking at has a completely rebuilt engine and new turbos (i found a new one, black, less kms and in PERFECT condition) and Achilles...I cannot manage that, my pride is too great, I WANT to have the nicest car in my school and I am ready to drain my bank account (even though it is only $5700)

Damn your 16 and rocking a BMW.I am 23 and I subway everywhere lol.

You should also look at Infinity G35. Pimp car.

As for those 2. Definitely the BMW - i wouldn't want to drive a 20 year old car anyways. If you break anything have fun looking for parts.

When I was getting my first car about 4 years ago I really wanted a 300zx. It's probably better that I didn't get one though. I would still choose that car if I was you though just cuz its badass. A turbo tho? I don't even want to imagine what the insurance will be

HAHA sucks to be you. Up here in Saskatchewan we have government run insurance. It doesn't even matter if it is turbo or not AND it doesn't even matter that I am only 16. Its like $250 for three months to insure it.

Both are pretty horrid choices, but I love Turbo, so I say Nissan

A little late but I bought the black 300zx, and kind of regret it :(

I didnt know that bringing a vehicle from out of province would cost like $1500 to get street legal. I figured it is the same country, shouldn't it be the same rules? NO

Im sure it will be great next week when it finally gets on the street.

A ford focus was my second choice, but i didnt get one, probably should have...except then i would regret not getting a 300zx so...
