These are some of the coolest good guys and bad guys in film. Some of these guys are heroic, while some are just plain evil. Feel free to add anyone you think Im missing and tell me what you think, who to add, take away etc...

20.

John Doe- Se7en

John Doe is more or less in here because he is simply so incredibly deranged and evil. The elaborate ways he kills is victims and the end, oh the incredible ending. (Spoilers) http://youtube.com/watch?v=pzAIZN9HuFg

19.

Predator-Predator

Yea... he's invisible and has dreadlocks. He's a double threat.

18.

Rose McGowan- Planet Terror

Dude, a hot chick with a gun for an apendage. Yea... awesome.

17

Alex- A Clockwork Orange

Alex and his droogs are film icons and is an amazing charactor in Kubrick's masterpiece A Clockwork Orange. Wheither he's singin in the rain while rapping a women in front of her husband, beating a women to death with a phallic statue or just in the mode for some ultra violence Alex represents one of the more intriguing charactors in film. Plus this is just such an awsome opening to a film. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8892771559366731578&q=a+clockwork+orange+opening&ei=t7gPSOHUHoiQ4wLUnIiqBA

16.

Mr. Blonde- Reservoir Dogs

Michael Madson plays one of the more interesting charactors in Tarantinos widley praised heist drama Reservoir Dogs and shows himself to be a very sadistic but incredibly smooth and would seem like a pretty cool guy from the outside if we didnt know about his love of torturing cops while listening to K-Billy's super sounds of the seventies. This clip should explain why he's on the list (spoilers and violence) http://youtube.com/watch?v=EgtPRcqKNBo

15.

Kakihara- Ichi the Killer

This guy is like Mr. Blonde but even more of a sadomasochist (in fact the film is filled with them). This film is extreme in so many ways and Kakihara, while maybe not being the most extreme is still incredibley interesting running around in his electric purple coat sticking long pins througn people skull and mouth and breathing smoke out through the "gils" on the side of his mouth.

14.

Agent Smith- Matrix Triology

Of course Agent Smith would be up here. When I first saw the matrix I thought this was the coolest badguy ever, but he slowly slide farther down the list with each subsequent film in the triology. I shouldn't have to explain much about him but this is still one of the best fight scenes ever. http://youtube.com/watch?v=qaLvcM-u4ns

13

Robocop- Robocop 1-3

Robocop, because we all know the solution to stopping inner city crime in Detroit isnt education or social programs, Its through Reagenesque justice brought down by the robotic hands of a cyborg.

12

Uma Thermun- Kill Bill1/2

Sexy, ultra stylized, incredibly bloody what isn't there to like about Tarantinos dedication to the great martial arts films which inspired him as a child. Uma Therman is great in the role of the bride and has just so many cool scenes (such as the one above where she takes on the crazy eighty-eights). For anoyone who likes these kinds of martial arts, kung fu films this is a great picture and The Bride is just such a great charactor for the film.

11.

Leon- Leon the Professional

Jean Reno plays Leon, an incredibly talented hitman who takes in a girl (Natalie Portman) to protect her from criminals who earlier came and killed her entire family. The film mostly deal with there relationship but theres also some incredible action scenes and its great seeing Leon go to work. http://youtube.com/watch?v=5ryaU8ZOLEM&feature=related

Im going to get dinner but Il be back for the top ten later...

...and now im back to finish.

TOP TEN

10.

Jet Li- Fist of Legend

He's such a nice guy in the film that its difficult to see him as such a tough guy, until of course we see him fight in one of the best marshal arts films with some of the best fight scenes. Exhibit A http://youtube.com/watch?v=KiNIucEKPm4

Exhibit B http://youtube.com/watch?v=HbB9pnWKIpw&feature=related

9.

T1000- Terminator 2

Alot of people might find Arnold to be the better terminator from the first film, but in my opinion the T1000 is alot cooler, it's liquid metal. Yea thats cool.

8.

Indiana Jones- Indiana Jones trilogy.... or is it Quadrilogy?

The man is an icon and the star of one of the greatest adventure films of all time (Raiders of the Lost Arc). The movies are so much fun, he's just such a man's man. He's not an over the top hero either, the guy is a proffesor so he's smarter then your average 80's tough guy, and theres this scene... http://youtube.com/watch?v=Epw-LSC3L2U

7.

John McClane- Die Hard films

Just look at the picture.

6.

Red Grant- From Russia With Love

In the world of James Bond there are a plethora of iconic bad guys; Oddjob, Jaws, Mr. Wint and Mr. Kid. That being said, as popular as they are they are no match for Red Grant. Where those charactors were over the top Bond Villans, Grant was a cold, intelliagent killer played wonderfully by Robert Shaw. Most people probably wont agree with this but he really is that good of a charactor. Him and Bond also take part in one of the best sequences in all of Bond Films. Spoilers... http://youtube.com/watch?v=A-Qq2l_LU_o

5.

Bruce Lee- Everything

He Killed Chuck Norris in way of the Dragon.

4.

Jules/ Vincent Vega- Pulp Fiction

These guys form a pair as far as im concerned and thats why they are this high. Sam Jackson has his moments and Travolta has his, and they are all good. I'd go on but I assume we have all seen this.

3.

Sean Connery as James Bond- Dr. No through You only live Twice

I've already said Im a big bond lover so this is no surprise. Sean Connery created a film Icon the world will not soon forget, James Bond is a ladies man, gambler, drinker, spy, assassin, theif and does it all in **** Yea he's the man.

2.

Anton Chigurh- No Country for Old Men

When I saw this in theatres I couldnt pay attention to anything that was going on this guy freaked me out so much. I loved the film but missed so much because everytime someone was talking I expected him to bust through the window and eat everyones face of. Coin Toss scene http://youtube.com/watch?v=TAVEXE6ADcs

and now the best of the best...

1.

Clint Eastwood- Everything, even Bridges of Madison County

If you havent seen any of Sierra Leone's Westerns or a Dirty Harry film then I maybe you need to thing long and hard about what your doing and where your going in life.

He's the best.

You rate Beatrix Kiddo over Pai Mei? Seriously? I agree with you about Alex though, A Clockwork Orange is a masterpece, Am I a bad person if I find the violence funny? I watched it with my brother once and we couldn't stop laughing. Also it contains possibly the best use ever of the William Tell Overture.

It obviously wouldn't be funny if it actually happened, but because all the violence is so stylized I find it funny, I can't help it, I just do. You really don't see anything comical about that in a purely fictional context?

Slightly outside the box, but what about the captain in Pan's Labyrinth? He was exceptionally nasty (doesn't the tacked-on Christian symbolism at the end annoy you though?)

i wasnt being sarcastic. i really thought it was funny when he swung the penis at her and there was clip reminiscent of old batman soundeffects only on acid.

and actually, i probably would laugh if i heard about somebody being beaten to death by a giant penis sculpture.

I think the list is better off without them, just too obvious and predictable, much more interesting to focus on characters from slightly more cult films, though this does not apply to everyone in the list.

You alrady said both the bride and Rose Mcgowen both two of the main characters from my 2 favorite movies of all time, Kill Bill(which was really 2 movies) and Grindhouse(which was really 2 movies) so I'm satisfied with that list.... but why not add....

that guy with hte deep voice from Sin City, not Bruce Willis or Clive Owen... that other guy...

Jigsaw was pretty badass...

Gael Garcia Bernal has proven himself to be a more than competent actor please include him on the list too.

since we're counting animals(what else is Predator?) can we count either the Velociraptor or the Tyrannosauras Rex from the Jurassic Park movies(better yet both?)

King Kong was pretty bad ass

Perhaps, but I didnt want the T1000 and the Terminator and I thought that the T1000 was a better bad guy and cooler in T2. Also Robocop isnt bad and I like him more then most cliche 80's action stars so I decided to put him in. I wanted to change it up a little bit.

Yea, also when I was young I thought he was cool but now, even though I like him within the context of the film I do find him to be kind of silly tbh.

Check out the films those characters are from if you haven't seen any. They're all superb, though it's difficult to find Underworld U.S.A. anywhere. I had to record it off of TCM.

Oh dont worry Ive already started looking up night of the hunter and it sounds great so Il probably bump that up on my list. Alot of those are already on my list but ive never heard of Underworld U.S.A. so thanks for the heads up on that. I just need to get Netflicks because so many of the films I want to see are so difficult to get. So again thanks for the suggestions I always appreciate them!

Jack Nicholson was on the edge of my list, In retrospect I should have put him in I think.

Crap, can't believe I forgot these guys:

Roy Batty - Blade Runner

Oh yeah! I loved Roy Batty. What a great character. As far as (edit) Aguirre (forgot the G) is concerned, I heard he was kind of like that in real life...I think I read that from some Herzog interviews.

Oh I thought you were just talking about charachters, also good job adding the man from no country.
