2008 olympics

yeah i just wanted to let everybody know how i feel about the olympics

it pisses me off how people forgot the true meaning of the olympics. the olympics are about athletes from all over the world joining together to compete. the olympics are about nations forgetting their differences for two weeks so their athletes could put out their best to represent their nations. i know china's been violating human rights and restricting basic freedoms. its not about that. its not about free tibet or anti-french protests. the olympic games belong to the international community too. its not just Chinas or the US'. it was amazing for me to see iraqis compete alongside the US. it was awesome to see a one-legged woman swim with such passion even though knowing she wouldnt be able to win a medal. forget about how gold medals a country has or how many medals period. everybody needs to remember what the true spirit of the olympics really is.
