The civic is gonna torture you performance wise and it's small if you are a tall person and Ford Fusion is just expensive just like any other Ford and the material feels cheap.

I say check out the Kia Optima or the Hyundai Sonata, both cars are more powerful ( 200HP ) and has more luxurious looks and has more feature set and are the at the same price point ( about 20k ).

First off the Fusion is a much better car. It's going to set you back a few thousand more and after tax is going to be over $20,000. I believe the Focus would be on the civic's level as far as price goes. Look up car reviews on sites like edmunds.

The civic is my favorite car of its class > (elantra, mazda3, kia forte, focus) i work at a rental car and have drove all those cars dozens of times.

The fusion is nice, its on the class above, meaning its a little bigger etc but it also costs more. ps i would rather buy a honda. :P

Well I like my civic (2010) so I'm gonna guess the 2012 is pretty good. I don't know a lot about cars though so I'm not the best person to ask really.

I always thought Ford was a horrible brand, and since Honda is japanese ( people i know only prise japanese cars) i ll guess go with honda. I never owned a ford nor a honda so i cannot say anything from personal experience.

I had a Rustang and it was a nightmare. I'd never own another Ford. I'd go Chevy again, but not Ford.

Ford sucks at making cars, unless it's the Mustang. Drove a Focus one time and it was the junkiest peice of crap I've ever seen or driven, just felt like a cheap car. Ford trucks can't be beat though. Buy the Honda.

Well If I were you, I would look into the Camaro, which starts at around 20k. Another great option is the Mitsubishi Lancer, looks great, has a great sound system, and if you get the ralliart version (granted it is 27k for that build) you get excellent performance. I would never buy the civic or the fiesta, both cars are just meh.

I have the 09 civic, replacing the 01 jetta vr6 that suffered an engine failure at 100000 miles. I loved the vr6 and vw in general but after the seize I couldn't trust them, especially since I took care of that car. I was like you, looking at the fusion and civic. I ultimatley bought the Honda basically due to it's mpg, and the Honda reputation. I have a motorcycle and convertable if I want speed or the coolness factor so this is my daily driver. That's basically what you're getting into. If you want something even remotely flashy or stylish go for something else. Even that si model, use that money and go European. The Honda engine and ride are great. The rest not so much. I got the fully loaded model with leather and the works and the thing still came with plastic sunvisors. it rattles a lot, to the point that you have to either have someone is the car to talk to or keep the radio at a volume of 15+. I have other issues but they border on nitpicking, I unfairly compare this to the much better equipped vw. Btw the 12 civic is getting no so great reviews, have you done some research? I believe car Nd driver made it the first ever Honda to make it to the not recommended list or something like that. I would seriously consider the ford. Yes they have had problems and in the past they made horrible decisions and quality was horrendous, but I really think they're getting a lot better and are poised to start competing.

I would love to hear the reasoning behind this statement. Consumer Reports removed the Civic from their car recommendation list after the 2012 redesign............

Oh..., I compared a brand new car to a used 3 year old car..

A 2012 v6 pony is 22k a brand knew v6 civic is 21k.

But it's got basically the same power as the current V6 iteration. Not to mention Mustangs prior to 2011 suck.

I've heard bad things about the 2012 Civic. The Ford Fusion (at least, the US model) might not be too bad, but it's getting a bit old.

You wanna know what I think? Never buy a brand new car unless you have a fetish for being ripped off.
