Not particularly surprising to be honest. This year 19 states saw all time high heat levels, and there 356 all time highs in the US. Worse yet we are still seeing the effects of last year's drought, barge traffic on the Missipppi River, and food prices have gone up due to taking in less crop.

So....thoughts OT?

Personally I say pray for rain. Of course when it's that dry, rain is going to end up causing a lot more soil damage which will end up in the rivers, and that doesn't help either.

I could use that heat now.

It was sooooo dry here in Arkansas. My job made me work out in the country and there were fields and fields of dead grass. Also lots of migrant grasshoppers as a curious side effect.

It was a warm year in North America but places like Mongolia and central Asia saw record cold.

Globally, 2012 was the 9th warmest year based on NASA UAH satellite (34 years of data).

We didn't get any snow until February last year, which was brilliant. But then it started snowing in November, and there is like 5" of snow outside right now, which is more than I can handle. I WANT IT TO GET HOTTER!
