It's telling that most of the worthwhile reviews that comes from Boyhood don't revolve around its so-called gimmick. It's just as easy of a target as Birdman's structure, while completely ignoring the fact that this corresponds with what it's attempting to say.

What reviews are worthwhile? Just checking over rotten tomatoes what it deems "top critic", practically every one of them opens with or brings the gimmick at the forefront.

You're taking little snippets from an entire review to prove nothing (some of which don't even comment on its 12-year process), and you're assuming that the process is immediately a gimmick because it doesn't fit the norm.

Perfect example of how the reactions of people who didn't enjoy it as much as others are far more exaggerated and anger driven than those that did like it. I think the funnier thing is, it is actually 'Birdman' this year that has the more outspoken supporters.

Redlettermedia (aka mr plinkett) is a review show akin to Roger And Ebert mixed in with parody of bad 80's sitcoms; it's suppose to be exaggerated.

For anyone interested (that will no one) this was the original review.

Who wants worthwhile reviews? Who replied to the person wanting worthwhile reviews? Who are you quoting? Is this two people, or one? If it's two, why are they in the same quote?

I know who RLM are. Maybe you didn't understand that first video you posted. Its point was portray this idea that because so many others liked it, and they didn't, that they must change to abide by what others thought...this (wrongly) assumes that people who liked it have been outspoken about those that don't - and have had negative reactions to negative/mixed reviews. That has not been the case with 'Boyhood'. Despite all the praise, the support has been rather mellow. As I said, if people actually followed critics/the industry, etc. they would know that most people who loved 'Boyhood' - even those that do think it is a "masterpiece" - couldn't care less what others think. It is actually 'Birdman' that has strong supporters losing their minds over those that didn't think too highly of it.

The clip n context is specifically discussing the Oscars and boyhood being nominated; predicting it will be win for every entry.

Clip says nothing about the Oscars. They are specifically talking about the RT scores & reviews.

Actually I got it muddled up with the other episode.

That clip is from episode 76, the one I was thinking of was 82. I'm a fraud.

Movies in the 80s and 90s would win any Oscar from 2000-Present.

It isn't traffic per se but if it wasn't for the stupid "no more than 2 post in a row" this threads would be in the 100's but GS can't get their shit together so users have to suffer.

Anyways.

Someone should take a count of how many NPH's jokes fell flat.

It had nothing to do with if what she said was true, I take her at word, but the delivery was poor.

African-Americans have voting rights, why should that be made an issue?

There are more blacks incarcerated than whites simply because there are more black criminals. Simple as that.

People, like the two on the Oscars tonight, need to stop victimizing themselves. It's a tactic, and it's a deceptive one.
