The locals at my college seem to be crazy about Pabst Blue Ribbon, but maybe that's because it's pretty cheap around here.

Then again, I don't drink (I'm not over 21, but when has that stopped college kids? :P) so I couldn't tell you personally what's good.

Guinness and Harp are both good on tap; for bottles, I recommend Rolling Rock (my fave cheap beer) and Beck's Dark

Alot of beers are an acquired taste so if you haven't drank alot in the past you may not like what I have to offer but I think they are really good beers

Blue Moon with an orange slice.

Heinekin

Bitenburger (German Beer)

Guiness

Fat Tire... MMmmmmmm thats good stuff.. kinda hard to find but amazing dark beer.

Corona from time to time

Rolling Rock

Negra Modelo (excellent mexican beer)

Woodchuck hard cider is good too not really a beer but its tasty (plus you mix half of this with half a cup of Guiness makes a "Snake Bite" really tasty.

Sam Adams any kind they are all pretty good

Leinenqugals (Not sure on the spelling but they are my favorite....Honeyweise is the best :) )

Try some of these I think you'll find at least one or two of these to be good

As for a good cheap domestic beer

Coors

Bud Light

Miller Light

Not a huge beer fan but I'd go with MGD (assuming it is sold in America) or perhaps Kokanee (again not sure if it is sold there).

you know, for some reason, everytime i see a thread asking for a beer recommendation i have a vision on how this guy thinks its the coolest kind of thread ever because apparently no one under 21 drinks. and only 21 yr olds can,so its like a super restricted thread where only the big guys can join this thread. and the TC gets all excited because ITS LIKE THE COOLEST THING EVER! only 21 YEAR OLDS YO! no underages in this thread zomg!! only to realize that you have a 19 year old casually opening a bottle of beer while typing this post.

but then again, im trying to make myself look cool right now. :P

Yuengling Lager is about as good as it gets when you're looking for a good, middle-road beer.

What kind of beer are you looking for?

You want a decent beer of the super cheap variety then go with PBR - Pabst Blue Ribbon. Its far better than Natty Light or Keystone Light or Busch Light or any other of the cheap beers.

That said, if you are looking for something that is a step up but not a flashy import then you could go with any of the varieties of Sam Adams, Blue Moon, Rolling Rock, or Killian's Irish Red.

As for imports, there are so many damn beers to choose from.

I would suggest looking into Grolsch (far better than Heineken), Beck's, Guiness, and Modelo (great mexican beer)

If you like drinking Corona, I would suggest trying to find Bahia. It tastes very similar to Corona but doesn't have the ending or aftertaste.

Eh, not really. If anything I find people over 21 spending less and less on quality beers as the years go by. In fact most people I know over 21 drink watered down crap compared to what I enjoy and I'm 20.

In a country where a strict drinking age of 21 is imposed, there is no accommodation for a "happy medium"- it is either a prude or full-blown alcoholic scenario.  This is pathetic.

America is such a polarized society, it won't even allow to spell words correctly with an "s" instead of a "z", or throw a "u" in where it is needed.

Drinking should be a social concept for all to enjoy, not a redneck male-bonding (only) concept, that hick wives despise.

I'm not a big drinker, but Fat Tire is probably one of the tastiest I've ever had.  Anyway, I CAN tell you one beer to avoid, and that's the Sam Adam's Cream Stout.  Completely disgusting.  Ever wondered what it would taste like if you combined beer and coffee?  Well, look no further!

I am from California so some might be local but...

Green Flash Imperial IPA
Anchor Steam brewery
Chimay (red, blue, white cap)
Delerium Tremons
Alagash brewery
New Belgium (Fat Tire) brewery
Russian River Pliny the Elder
Bear Republic Racer 5
Old Foghorn Barleywine
Dead Guy Ale
Rogue brewery
Stone brewery
Boont Valley brewery (amazing IPA, amber ale, and stouts)
Maudute (by Unibroue brewery)
Malheur 12 (as in 12% alcohol)

PS anything with "brewery" after it is not the name of a a beer, but the name of the brewerrty

metroidfood

thats because its teh s*** and its cheap. All college kids love PBR and that goes double if your from Oregon. Hell I got a fridge load of that stuff. along with some other beer and liquor.

Gotta love college

I preface this by saying that I never used to drink beer and have only recently slowly been acquiring the taste for it, however, I've found that my favorite is ...

Magic Hat Circus Boy from Vermont. This stuff is friggin' awesome.

I've also recently begun to enjoy Sam Adams Winter Lager and Harpoon Winter Warmer.

Others that I like...
Corona w/lime
Pacifico
Harpoon UFO
Harpoon Raspberry UFO
Blue Moon

Grolsch is a great beer for any time of the day or night. Hoegaarden's a good one if you want to try a cloudy beer. Peroni's just fantastic with pizza. Newcastle Brown Ale's a tasty one in moderation .

[QUOTE="mrbojangles25"]

I am from California so some might be local but...

Green Flash Imperial IPA
Anchor Steam brewery
Chimay (red, blue, white cap)
Delerium Tremons
Alagash brewery
New Belgium (Fat Tire) brewery
Russian River Pliny the Elder
Bear Republic Racer 5
Old Foghorn Barleywine
Dead Guy Ale
Rogue brewery
Stone brewery
Boont Valley brewery (amazing IPA, amber ale, and stouts)
Maudute (by Unibroue brewery)
Malheur 12 (as in 12% alcohol)

PS anything with "brewery" after it is not the name of a a beer, but the name of the brewerrty

I thought dead guy ale was FROM rogue brewery? >_>

I always drink Stella Artois. That's the best of what I've tried at least.

I also love a nice cold Stella.

I am only 20 by the way, but since I live in the UK, I am legal :)
