Lost > Heros >24 > Prison Break > House
24 used to be my favorite show, but the whole "24" formula is getting a little old. That and the ever widening suspension of belief required to watch the show has been leaving me cold. I'm not a fan of Prison Break either but I'm putting it before House because the last in the world we needed was yet another medical drama, even if it does have a twist.
Lost is my favorite show right now because I love a mystery and I appreciate a program that doesn't feel the need to cater to the lowest common denominator in the television viewing audience. It's not that it's a "smart" show necessarily, but long time fans of the show are recognizing that Lost is much more about the characters and their relationships than the Island and it's mysteries. I'm left fascinated and excited to see how each of the characters will further develop... or die.
It's too soon to tell if Heros has any staying power, but it's certainly been a fun ride so far. It's like a super hero story without all the cheese. I'm officially a fan.
