300 dollar special effects?!

Here is a sci fi video a fellow named Fede Alvarez's made for 300 dollars. It is pretty cool and looks great for being so cheap. I'm not sure if it's been posted here on GS yet so i thought i'd toss it on here

The end was amazing.

Very impressive. This filmmaker has a lot of potential if he can pull that off for 300 bucks. Hope to see more from him in then future.

The people commenting on that site are just stupid. It looked impressive as hell and I can believe it cost 300 dollars. If they had people talented with SFX they really didn't have to spend over 300, like the people on Ebaumsworld are suggesting. Somebody even mentioned to license the 28 Days Later soundtrack would have cost more than 300 dollars, that guy's a friggin' moron, seeing as the video wasn't released for making a profit.

Loved the shots of people running while the buildings were blown to pieces in the background. That was special.
