http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Thermopylaegomer69....Very loosely based on the battle, yes. It's riddled with historical inaccuracies, but who the hell cares? This is an action and style piece, not a history piece. Don't attack it or exalt it as anything to do with history.
Yes! You find out just now!
They had stuff about it on History Channel. They had an old movie about it. History books too.
The Frank Miller graphic novel is what he depicted about it so he added some stuff in to make it more exciting. Like King Leonidas wasn't the last Spartan standing. He died pretty early in the battle and the Persians and Spartans fought over his body. They really did say:
Persian Messenger: "Be prepared to die. Our arrows will block out the sun."
I forget the Spartan Comrades Name: "Then we will fight our battle in the shade"
Also Xexes isnt a half naked guy with all his body pierced.
Also the hunchback guy was real. I think.
Xerxes probably was similar to that, he was pretty vain so it wouldn't be such as shock that he would want to surround himself with gold. Also i think it was just a run of the mill guy instead of a hunchback, if he was hunhback i don't think it was to the extent of the film. Even historians who watched the film say its historically 100% accurate, but visually its a fantasy.Yes! You find out just now!

[QUOTE="Def_Jef88"][QUOTE="Silchas"]History isn't always correct, so i doubt it. It would be cool, though.Silchasuhhh, most things considered historically true are ..... hitorically true.. But history is written by victors in war etc. so it's not reliable. History is usually written by observers who don't take sides in conflicts. There purpose is just to record history. ***300 Spoilers*** And if that were the case i think the Persians would have made themselves look a little better than they did in history.
