4th of July - are you ready ?

Hey all, I just went to my local fireworks store and spent almost 300 bucks on fireworks ! Mortars, bottle rockets, roman candles, firecrackers, etc etc... It's gonna be awesome ! Are you guys ready for the 4th fireworks celebrations ?

My mother died on the fourth of July. So it's not something I care for. I never cared for fireworks anyway.

NC doesn't have bottle rockets so I'm going to have to go to SC if I want anything worthwhile. I miss going to China Town and grabbing a bunch of awesome stuff, but Guliani put an end to that. wstfld

Yep. Wife is out of town for a week with the kid. I plan to BBQ and do nothing. Perfect 4th for me.

I just go in to Evansville for the fireworks show on the Ohio. It's really quite a cool show.

Fireworks are lame in my city, about all you can get are sparklers. You used to be able to get more exciting stuff, but too many idiots burned their apartment buildings down, so they banned almost everything. I don't really see the point of banning fireworks, because if you really want bottle rockets and M80s, all you have to do is drive over to the Indian Reservation and you can buy anything you want.

Spent about $400 on fireworks and we are going to have a BBQ with the family. :)

I spent $400 on fireworks (and got another $80 for free) and then found out about a family member and now instead of firing them off, I am headed to upstate Wisconsin for family reunions, cookouts and fireworks up there. I need some ribs for Sunday.8) This will be the first 4th of July I haven't fired off fireworks in some time.
