wow.....I would have been suspended from that school every day. I always had an imaginary sword on me at all times at that age. I mean someone had to take out the f*cking Shredder.
Kind of generalizing there, pretty sure this doesn't happen at most schools...And the pussification of society continues...

He deserved it. That imaginary grenade could have, in the imagination world, exploded and killed his friends and teachers.
Parents should sue the school or something. I hate zero tolerance policies.

But waht if they were imaginary terrorist surrounding him?

I got suspended in middle school for selling candy. The school thought I was selling drugs, I made $125 in 20mins (my lunch time), and when they called me to the office I had police and the dean waiting for me. They made me empty my pockets and I had a huge stack of one dollar bills, so they jumped the gun, and when they searched my book bag all they found was jolly rancher lollipops and skittles :P Fightingfan
You're such a gangster FF. :P
But you still got suspended? That's silly.

If the school had a rule against imaginary violence, then the parents wouldn't win a lawsuit.
A better solution is for the public to put enough pressure on the school to get them to change their unreasonable rule. Which might not work, but I think it would have a better chance of succeeding than a lawsuit.
agree in full. The worst part about zero tolerance policies is that they allow the people who make these truly idiotic decisions to hide behind themHe deserved it. That imaginary grenade could have, in the imagination world, exploded and killed his friends and teachers.

Greyseal9 is right, what the school is doing is completely fine legally. It's just stupid and evil. ;)
Relevant...
I have a decommissioned World War I baseball grenade and a decommissioned World War II pineapple grenade.
We should not ban imaginary or decommissioned grenades because I keep one on my person to trick muggers into thinking I pulled out a live grenade.

Yeah I don't remember what for, but I saw my old dean who's a colonel so he has that high military persona(Hard to miss when he's in public), and I brought it up he totally remembers the day all these years.wow.....I would have been suspended from that school every day. Word brother. DEATH TO THE INFIDELS!!!!!
I don't see the problem here. School is supposed to be a place of non violence and learning, so you shouldn't be doing those things and expect to not face the consenquences.
I was trying to save people and I just cant believe I got dispended, says Alex Evans, who doesnt understand his suspension any better than he can pronounce it.
The boy didnt throw anything real or make any threats against anyone. He explains he was pretending to be the hero. So nothing can get out and destroy the world.
Children are being trained to believe that they shouldn't be heroes, when heroes are what this world needs. This is just more social engineering in the public schools.

Lol at your idiotic claims. School is a place for learning and developing a higher intellect, and not a place for childess behaviour. Hopefully more schools follow a zero tolerance policy so that education and science can triumph.

It's hard to hear you with all the interference from that tinfoil hat you're wearing.
Where is the learning or intellect in zero tolerance and not allowing kids to imagine and pretend? :|

Now that we have both extremes covered, we can think about a middleground policy!

I didn't say people weren't allowed to imagine, I said that such behaviour is not acceptable in school and that there should be consenquences for doing so. School is a place for learning and developing higher intellect, so please, let's keep it that way.

Again, where is the intellect in zero tollerance?I'm not quite sure I follow. Zero tolerance policies work extremely well since they directly prohibit and deal with inappropriate behaviour. And as we saw in this article, it works extremely well since that person will think twice about acting childish in a place of learning and high intellect.
