How come god is not known as male or female? :|RPG100801
God is known as male. In the Bible, he calls himsels a husband and the Israelites his wife. If God were a female, he would be referred to as a Goddess.
The guy asked if god were one or the other gender, not what you believe in. And please refrain from the offensive posts, otherwise feel the wrath of flame:) Now I asked my mother about this when I was small, but was scolded for asking such a question O.o...but in my theory, he is neither because he is the creator of us and is not a humanoid figure such as ourselves:)..death_miester
Thank you very much but I away's thought god was born because the star's made the form of a human and made him boy was I wrong and I came up with this theory while eating at a sonic lol xD
In answering the question, God is Spirit and He does not have the physical reproductive parts of a man or a woman. He is a concept that we understand as being a Spirit and as such is an entity completely devoid of form and shape. Therefore, we must have spiritual eyes to see God, yet we as human beings have difficulty attempting to fit an infinite concept into our finite minds. So the term "Him" is frequently used when speaking about or referring to God.PSPchiqyou see "him" everywhere
I always thought he was more like a blob rather than a humanoid figure

Hey me too. When I think of God, I see a big cloud-man. But then I think "Hey, we were made in his image, so that's not possible." Then I continue doing whatever I was doing.

That has so much potential for Holocaust jokes :P
To those who think God is a male...wouldn't that mean there is a "female God"? The_Ish
polytheism ftw!

I quote myself on the statement "So the term "Him/He" is frequently used when speaking about or referring to God." It won't suit if God is termed as "She" right?
