For those of you who didn't guess, this will be topic (likely to fall to the arguments it will probably bring) about the divinity or existance of Jesus (or just about anything contraversial about him).

I'm far from a religious guy, so I will not give lecture on how he will "save your soul", but let everyone discuss whether or not he was the all-singing all-dancing son of god, or a more modest victum of the exaggerations of a few followers. Or maybe a combination of the acts of several men.

Post who you think Jesus was, and let the discussion begin...

I believe He was the Son of God. Also, the life of parties. You know who's on everybody's guest list when the guy can turn water into wine.

I believe that he existed , but do not believe in God. So he would not be the son of God.

My friend believes in Karma. I asked him, "So what did Jesus do that came back to bite Him in the ass?"

Jesus spread the word of Christianity, and was arrogant enough to say that he was the "son of God".

Jesus may have existed, but he was and is far from being the Son of Man/God. His life was extremely exagerrated and no evidence depicts any kind of reality as far as his 'miracles' are concerned.

Whoever believes in Jesus being this magical character is just as delusional as those who wrote the old & new testament.

Negative. Believing in his existence is doesn't make you a Christian. I believe he existed, but I definitely do not believe he was this magical character who was the Son of God. So, no, it can't be and isn't the same as asking if you're Christian or not.

actually, you were stating your opinion as fact ("Whoever believes in Jesus being this magical character is just as delusional as those who wrote the old & new testament") which is extremely disrespectful, and a poor argumentative technique.

If you dont like religion and stuff, fine.,..neither do I. But at least be courteous about it.

That's because it is fact, but I suppose you're correct in that I shouldn't say it as such.

I was referring to the OP's question, which specifically asked whether you believed Jesus performed all the miracles. When I said believe in him, I didn't mean just believe that a guy named Jesus existed.

I wasn't really asking if he performed all the miricles, more or less what you thought he was really like. I think he was but a man, an ambitious man, but a man he remains. He never actualy said he was the son of god, not any more so than anyone else and I think his miricales are over exaggerations of events. To say he didn't exist would be kind of stupid, as there are more records on his life than almost any other figure in history.

And to add something to the table, I also think its likely he got married (as it was almost unheard of for a jewish man to live without getting married) and could have had chilidren. Does it truely matter? No. And yet it does to some people.

Being a christian shouldn't be about "accepting his salvation" it should be about the values behind the beliefs ;). So it shouldn't really matter if he was "gods son" or not.

This wonderful thing called faith which causes people to blindly believe what they believe. It also gives some people a sense of purpose.
