Most Greenday songs are just power chords. As for ten basic riffs... I'm not sure what you mean... just experiment with chords... learn a few songs then fiddle about with the chords.
Sunshine of Your Love Iron Man Smoke on The Water Heartbreaker ... that's all I can think of at the moment. I'm pretty sure Iron Man is all power chords...

This was before they drafted in an extra guitarist when they played live so he liked to keep it simple

There shouldn't be guitar riffs you "need" to know.
 You should just learn the ones from the music you like. If everyone wanted to learn a Led Zepplin song, but I didn't like them why would I learn that song?
I like the song Blitzrieg Bop, so I will look into that. Are My Chemical Romance all Power Chords?, oh, and how about Avril Lavigne?; because I remember people saying that that band doesn't do much...?.
