not scared of death - religious people should be more scared because they have the chance of going to eternal damnation. Better keep up those prayers guys.
I'm scared of pain - don't want pain. Scared of getting cancer, that ain't fun.
Im scared to die now, mainly because i want to live a fulfilling life.
But at 75 or 80, i wouldnt mind at all if i were close to dying.I would look back at my life, and hope that i accomplished something good.And finally close my eyes and prepare myself for a long awaited rest.
The pain is frightening though, hope i pass without pain, and if there is something after death, thats great aswell.For the moment all we know is that the brain ceases to function, so i o with that.
Not now, of course. In case I face certain or almost certain death, I'd be scared, but I don't see how that relates to religion. Animals don't have religions and they get scared when they face a life threatening situation. It's an instinct and it's natural.
Im an Atheist and im not scared of dieing. We all got to go sometimes, why be scared... theres so much to do on earth, why should I live my live in fear. And if your christian (or whatever religion) just because your scared of dieing, you arn't god-loving but god-fearing. And that my friend, is a pity.
Yes, because it became a very real possibility (serious illness) to me at 20. Scared the living **** out of me. That fear has turned to acceptance though. Sure people don't fear death....hell, we all know that things such as religion and philosophy don't touch on it at all, and are not used to comfort and explore what happens when it does arrive. :roll:
How can anyone not be anxious of letting go of their entire existence and passing on not knowing what will happen afterwards? Give me a break.
Curious about dieing, if I'm right and there is no hell or heaven then there won't be any chance of me going 'I TOLD YOU SO!!' to anyone. But I'm not scared of it.
