I know, Off-Topic is strictly Anti-Conspiricists, and Religion, but i feel like posting and Off-Topic thread :P

Well, to the men here, I know it is considered weak hearted to "cry" or "have a tear to your eye"

But, have any of you ever watched a movie, heard a song, that brought a tear to your eye or made you cry?

I know I've heard a few songs that haven't neccesarily made me cry, but I definately choke up big time. I all about concealing my unmanly emotions, but some things really tear me up when I hear them.

I'm not opposed to crying, it's just that I've never been the kind of person that reacts that way. No movie or song has ever made me cry.

Yep, regularly. The only time when it's not necessary to cry is when you risk upsetting somebody else by doing so.

yeah, sort of "sterotyped" sounding for me, but when my grandfather died, they played, "Scotland the Brave" on the pipes. Forever since it brings a wee tear to my eye. So does Upward Over the mountains by Iron and Wine. Sort of reminds me of how my mother hates me now

Cryings ok! Really, in fact, it's probably better than bottling it up. I've cried during a number of movies, i think Blade Runner was the one that really got me....tears in rain.... Music wise, Elliott Smith has some pretty emotional songs. And To Bid You Farwell by Opeth.

I never really reach the point that i want to cry, i occaisonally get slighty emotional with tears welling up in the face, but thats about it. Really bad situations that should make someone cry, usually just make me angry or depressed.

The closest I've ever been to crying is when I watched the movie "Grave of the fireflies", my eyes probably looked a bit shiny in a few of those scenes... but I've never actually cried.

It doesn't mean I'm emotionally dead, it just means that it's hard for me to produce real tears unless it's very cold and windy.

I don't really have a problem with others crying but for personal reasons I don't actually cry anymore although I do get rather choked up during particular moving moments in cinema.

asdf

Random Harvest is probably one of the biggies that really gets to me when it hits the big payoff emotional ending EVERY...SINGLE...TIME! But there are random moments that can ambush me out of nowhere such as towards the ending of Adam Sandler's Click when he suddenly has to watch his father wander off to die alone and he can't do anything about it and ends up sacrificing his life in order to get his family back on track and to set the record straight. Good God who would have predicted a scene like that in such a meh movie like Click? Makes me wish that Sandler would get less Sandler-tailored juvenile roles to take on.

I cry all the time when I watch Pixar movies or really anything that has emotional material in it. I'm a pretty emotional person, so even the slightest of things can make me teary-eyed. I'm just a big baby!

I cry when I watch pet rescue on animal planet. Abused animals make me cry my eyes out of my head, that's my weak spot. I really shouldn't watch that program because I'll feel all upset, sad and angry after watching.

"Weak hearted"? Only strong men, comfortable and in touch with their emotions and masculinity cry. Only insecure males think its "unmanly" to cry. If it was against nature, we wouldn't have the ability to do it at all.

I personally cry a lot, whenever something is emotionally moving or touching, it moves me to tears. It has a lot to do with my INFJ personality... but I consider it a strength, not a weakness. It allows me to be empathetic towards other people and feel for them in meaningful and genuine ways.

NO I have never cryed no matter what.

Yep. The Notebook still makes me cry. :cry:Theokhoth
That movie breaks my heart... Especially cause when I first saw it I was still taking my grandma to see my grandpa at the nursing home, and my grandpa had Alzheimer's... Now they are both gone... But I'm not ashamed to admit that modern cinematography has perfected the art of getting to me, whenever someone makes a big sacrifice for someone else especially.. MGS3 anyone? Im not bawling by any means, but my eyes swell up with pride so to speak when someone does the right thing in movies..

Yes.

Guys who try too hard to hold this "tough guise" upon themselves only show that they are insecure and afraid of what others might think of them if they were to ever shed a tear.

It's hard for any movie, song, video game, book to make me cry. It's not that I try not to cry, I just am not a cryer, I suppose.

If other men cry though, I think it is perfectly fine.

the closest media-related cry i can think of is the end of MGS2. i was just so beautiful, but my brother and dad were in the room, so... i had to hold it in.

tears of joy count rite?
