:question: Just wondering, why does everyone always put numbers after there user name? like "Kitchenman_421" for example. Does anyone now the origins of this?

If more than one is taken, numbers allow you to have the name you want. In my case, when I set up my email account, southy787 was what I chose, so I use that for pretty much everything now.

Yup, if you want a name that is already taken, chances are you can still have the name so long as you make it unique (ie...put numbers at the end).

Some numbers have meaning to someone, such as social security numbers or debit card PIN numbers. Others are just there for show, or to get the words in the username to go through. CleverResponse wasn't taken though so I didn't have a use for numbers.

I combine band names/albums to get my usernames and email addresses. For instance, my gamertag is Shadows Curse. I got that from the band named Shadows Fall and Vanna's cd titles Curses. Put them together to form Shadows Curse

i wanted my username to just be Dante, but i knew that would never happen because it would have been long taken, so i just kept adding numbers :)
