Nothing can be proven.Stupid-BastardIt is proven that you are reading this sentence because you just did.

I really, really hope you're not implying that people who don't believe in God are incapable of love.
I second that.[QUOTE="Puiumami"]Can you prove that you love your parents?Fortier
I really, really hope you're not implying that people who don't believe in God are incapable of love (not that I even belive in it).
Nope, not that. I'm trying to show that you can't prove you love your parents (yet you do) then how much more can you prove I don't believe in God or that God does not exist.[QUOTE="Fortier"][QUOTE="Puiumami"]Can you prove that you love your parents?Puiumami

2. Nobody can disprove or prove God's existence.
swears an oath (dunno really what I'm swearing to I guess it would still be god since I'm agnostic)Doesn't prove anything, you can't swear to God. In the Bible it says to not swear to God. Matthew 5:34 34But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne;
"I love my parents"
proof that is admissable by court assuming I'm a credible witness to my devotion of my parents.

HA! I like the way you think!
[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]What does this have to do with atheism?PuiumamiThe fact that if they can't prove they love their parents then how can they prove God doesn't exist, if people love him.

No, what if someone read it to me?
And no, love is a special pattern in which a group of neurons in your brain are linked, and this pattern is different for every person. Therefore, no; you would need to have specific conditions for every person.

Love cannot be quantifiably measured, but existence can be proved true or false.
Nothing can be proven at all. It's amazing when you get in an argument with someone, and all you have to say is prove it. And they can't:D-Sniper99-
That's called an argument from ignorance, or in a more sophisticated manner, a logical fallacy. Feel free to google it.
This thread is older than a year.the_greenzero
How old is a year? We would have to know which year, specifically. So then, the year 1900 would be over a hundred years old.
I never understand this, just because you cant disprove god, you should base your life around worshipping god?

A year is the amount of time it takes for the Earth to revolve around the sun.
This topic was created February 7, 2007 so unless someone hacked in and changed the time this thread created, then it'd be proper to assume that the Earth has revolved around the sun more than one and a half times.
I think logic was left at the door too.
Athiests and non-believers don't claim to have proof either way, but they come to a conclusion based on what they know.
I wouldn't want to see any harm come to my mother and I couldn't stand to see her unhappy (I'm still an ass to her though). Based on that I can say that I don't dislike my mother, so I must care for or love her.
With God I don't see Him having any affect on my actions, or making my life any better or worse, nor do I see any other proof for His existance, so I come to the conclusion that He must not exist.
What do either of these things prove? Just that I have the ability to make conclusions and form my own opinions.

Look at the very first post, and it's obvious what you're doing because there's evidence.
I can prove that my parents exist, though.
And Zintarr, I myself LOVE pineapple as well. A lot.
