i had a question about the FairTax while i was readng about it earlier today. (in my opinion it would be the best thing America has done for taxes since the Boston Tea Party)

but i was wondering when it said "no tax on used products"

it got me thinking about gamestop, and how 35% of their income is from Used games, and that's pretty much what places like that are known for. Would you have to pay the 23% retail tax on used games? if not i think it would affect gamespot as a whole company..just wondering
and thanks if you can clarify for me :)

Yes, you would still have to pay the sales tax on the used games at Gamestop. It goes into how Gamestop does it's buisness.

The problem with the fair tax is that

A) it's a tax on consumption(the largest driving factor in the economy)

b) A tax on the middle class

c) It would have to be higher then 23% to make the amount of money the gov't needs to run

d) you still also have to pay state sales tax
