A Topic About Losers

How would you define a loser? And, do you look down on them? It seems to me that one criteria that makes someone a loser is the inability to get laid/ acquire sex. Why is this? That's all I've ever heard my whole life.

Why are people so vain? So shallow? Surely people have more depth to them than this. Sometimes I think Human beings are an utter waste of sapience and that the real losers are the people who are so inconsiderate and carnal.

The problem with the clever man is he is smart enough to look down upon those of a lesser intelligence and assume he has the moral superiority because he recognises their ignorance.

The only people I look down upon are those who are unhappy with their situation (whatever that may be) but lack the strength of character or willingness to make a change. It makes me sick for example when people complain about not getting laid but upon further investigation it turns out they refuse to go outside and socialise. Sure its easier for some people than others, not everyone is blessed with charm and good looks but without the capacity to take control of your own situation you deserve to be miserable.

My personal definition of a loser is a person who is miserable when conditions are good. When someone whines about their life despite having lots of money, a great health, and good people around them. To me that is a loser.

getting laid has nothing to do with being a loser, at least in my definition. my definition is different, primarily because of my location. i consider all gangsters losers. they are the reason i could not wear blue and red from 4th-12th grade. they are the guys who swooped up almost all the girls in school because they had a lot of money from dealing. they are the people who always tried fighting me for no reason. they are the reason why my parents have to live with an alarm system and locks on everything. as far as i'm concerned they could all be wiped off the planet and I would be happy with it. i guess in a way it helped as i excelled in varsity wrestling and got good grades. and i always got a bonus points with the ladies as I never had a girlfriend in high school.

A loser is simply someone who believes he/she is one.

well think about it this way. lack of sex isnt what defines a loser, it's a symptom of being a loser.

Females dont want to have sex with a guy who has nothing going for him (most of the time) in order to find a girl willing to have sex with you, you have to show her that youre worth it and if they dont see any merits in you they wont have sex with you.

Bullocks. I've got a twenty seven year old cousin who's fat, balding, and has never had a job. He gets laid on a daily basis, by chicks who, while not the best looking, certainly aren't ugly. Heck, some of these chicks are college educated and have well-paying jobs.

To me a loser is someone who gives up easily and makes life decisions based upon how easy something is. Complaining and slacking is easy. Hard work and self-improvement is tough.

As far as women go, a desirable woman is like a desirable job. The better it is, the more applicants they have. Just "being a nice guy" isn't going to cut it when a female has 30 different guys "being nice" to her on a daily basis. Education, income, and physical appearance, a sense of humor, all are just as important as how nice you are.

because someone has decided to not have sex does not make them a loser. could be other factors contributing to the decision to stay celibate.

My honest opinion? Everybody is a loser in one way or another. Maybe they never go out and have fun with friends. Maybe, as you pointed out, they cant get laid. Who knows? Im sure some people would consider me a loser (I know a lot did in high school) because I would rather stay at home on the weekends with my family and watch a movie instead of going out to clubs. Say what you will, but Im happy. The biggest loser though, if I have to think about it, is somebody who's unhappy with their situation in life but they dont attempt to make it better. They'd rather sit and complain than go out and do something about it.

I agree with everything you said, it's an incredibly juvenile way to judge people, and this is coming from someone that has no problem getting the nooky.

I guess I'd define a loser as someone who doesn't attempt to better themselves or their standing in life when they're in a situation they don't like. Going back to the sex example, I don't consider people who get none a loser. If they consistently complain about it while doing nothing to try to change how they act though, then I'd guess I'd probably consider them one.

Eh....you can be unemployed and forty and living with mom and happy with yourself...but I would say that's a loser.

Honestly, it depends on the circumstances.

If one is forty, unemployed, and living with their mother because they won't get off their ass and make something of their lives, then yeah, that's a loser. But if a forty year old loses his job and has to live with his mother to avoid being homeless, then I wouldn't call that person a loser.

We can have the entire world tell that guy to go get a job, but in the end his own opinion is worth more to him than everyone else's combined. In other words, we define our own reality.

loser means someone who is lazy and vain (unsuccessful at study,job and relationships) while everyone around him flourished.

This although, I do feel for those who lack strength to change also. It's not always there fault that there not able to mentally push themselves like another is.

I was talking about the former...but as for the latter...it depends. I mean is he just existing there or trying to find employment? Is he holed up in the basement with his mom taking car of him or is he helping around the house? While losing his job may not have been his fault....it doesn't automatically absolve him for life.

Someone incapable of achieving their goals due to laziness, lack of skill, stupidity, etc. Or someone without goals in the first place and willing just to live within the status quo and not challenge anything.

I feel like a loser. I'm 36, live with my parents, am socially awkward, don't really hang out with anyone or have a social life. But I'm fighting cancer, am disabled, and my health's slowly deteriorating. I'm not sure if I'll see 50.

I feel like a loser because in all respects, in society I don't measure up to whats valued by many: I can't work, can't support myself, my parents take care of me, I don't have a girlfriend. Nothing worthwhile aside from fighting disease and surviving.

I don't believe I'm a loser as it takes strength to survive in my case but I'm really not good at much else. But recently I've been trying to get out on my good days.

I sometimes think I can't be classified as anything else but a loser really.
