the clothes are okay. i think they're expensive for the most part. i wouldn't make habit (or ever for that matter) of buying them, but people who openly dislike A&F are sometimes as persuaded by popular opinion as the people who buy the clothing.

i believe badaboom187 is referring to the controversy that occured a few years ago with the catalog's lack of people other than whites as well as the certain stores which did other than what your particular store does. it's true that the quarterly predominantly features whites...but i doubt it has much to do with race...moreso sales.

exactly. it all comes down to sales. white people buy the clothes primarily... white people relate better with white people... its all psychological.... every store does it... they hire poeple that shop there.

I have a book that briefly talks about it and some of the shirts that they used to sell that had some racial streotypes on them, ex: asians running laundry business, etc. Have to scan them to show you, but not home right now.

I dress kinda simple anyway... Loose jeans, big t-shirt, big overshirt, boots. Don't need to go crazy with brand names anyway.

that's good to hear. i'm pegged as a stupid redneck ("with a such a cute accent." :roll: which i despise for the most part :lol: ). unfortunately, those who claim racism is so wrong but make an absolute comment about a group of people often makes me grumpy. ignorance works both ways i guess...the supposed learned as well as those uninformed rednecks. :P

They are alright, I do like some of their clothes, but its mostly pants and shorts that I buy there because I like that they dont hang over the knees for the shorts and the pants fit really good and look a little bit more classy than all the other cargo shorts. But other than maybe a pair of pants and a shirt or two every 6 months, thats about it. Otherwise, a lot of their crap is over priced for what you are getting, and its not even made in America.
I wear it, I love their clothing. Its usually well crafted and the style usually lasts years. While it is more expensive then say American Eagle, I think it is worth the difference.
