i don't know how but my cousin had a 78 GPA, and got into Penn State :?
but anyways yea, i'm still unsure of my future. My cousin didn't decide her major till her Sophmore year so no need to rush.
I am actually kinda scared about my future, i am screwing up in high school, will i still get into a good college..somebody please anwser..George__1992
I did, I only had a 3.1 or 3.2 and I made it into Xavier...But supposedly I wrote this amazing entrance essay that sealed the deal for me early, and they probably looked at my good grades in English also (I'm an English major).
[QUOTE="George__1992"]do any of you remember what GPA you ended up with..and what do you think about pharmacy as a career choice?duxup
Become a pharmacist? Those dudes do pretty darned well.
Yeah, not too shabby. Look here.
It's not unusual to not know what you want to do. In fact, most people change careers 3 or 4 times even after school. Find something you love doing and you will be happy. Find something you love doing and can make money with and you'll be rich.
You're never really tied to one job, but a 4 year degree is going to help regardless of the position. Most colleges don't make you declare for a year or two anyway. I wouldn't sweat it.
You don't have to know what you want to do, but you do have to realize that there are a lot of things you can do to increase your chances of getting a good job:
* Choose something you like to do, make it your major, and excel at it.
* Take school and work seriously, but not too seriously.
* Consider taking an aptitude test to determine where your interests lie.
There are plenty of jobs you cannot get without a degree: medicine, law, engineer
do any of you remember what GPA you ended up with..and what do you think about pharmacy as a career choice?George__1992Pharmacy majors do well coming out of college but they do have to go through a lot. Honestly, it's been said before, most employers don't pay attention to your GPA...that's more so for post-graduate purposes. I was able to skate by in my first college try and graduate with a 2.51 on a 4.0 scale...HS i think i managed a 3.5
I believe it was a pretty solid 3.0.
Pharmacists make very good money. There is also quite a bit of schooling and continuing Ed involved. I'd say that you might be able to gauge a bit of that option based on how you feel about chemistry.
effthat
yeah, you need to like chemistry...
pharmacy is going to be what i will be doing..
i messed up in high school...gonna try to finish it up close that chapter in my life and try to get straight A's in college..
i dropped out when i was 16, got my GED when i was 18 and now im 28 and im making about 40k a year which isn't bad for a high school dropout who spent about 5 years getting smashed. i have coworkers making less than me and they're college grads. its all about how you present yourself and how hard you're willing to work to make a living. that being said i do regret not going to college as i know i would be better off in the job market so i suggest going to college, even if its a rotten no name community college. most non-specialty jobs (astrophysicist, biochemist, doctor, lawyer etc) just look at your resume and schooling to see "did he/she have what it took to stick through college" z4twennyyes, a smart, confident person can go pretty far in life if they put in the effort.

im going to college.....even if i have to sell my body...seriously..
*feels cheated by thread title*
I got into uni through clearing after a major fudging on the A-Level side of things. There are few jobs that require specific degrees (like medicine, law etc.) but most will just look at if you have a degree. Just pick what you're most interested in and decide when you're ready, forcing yourself to do so will just cause more problems then they solve.
I did horrible in highschool. I got C's and D's and never did any of my work. Now I'm in my first year of college and I'm doing a lot better and getting A's and B"s. I had no clue what I was going to with my future at the beggining of the year but now I'm starting to think of becoming a biology major. College is a new chance to straighten yourself out and figure out what you want to do.artichoke
beatifully said...that gives me hope..
