You'd be the perfect project partner. I'd find a couple people who were afraid of public speaking and tell them to do all the work. In return I'd present.

IMO, best thing to do after you screw up like that is to have a can of beer and yell out like crazy, but obviously you are too young for that. I didn't really care about what the others thought about me anyway when I was in your age, so I really can't help you. Besides, why would anyone care if you stutter during a public speech? I saw tons of people who even cried during show-and-tell periods.

I do not think it is possible to not care what others think of you. Everyone cares what others, not everyone, thinks of them. What you could do is try to develop a sense of confidence that would lead to a decrease in the anxiety you are feeling when in front of a group of people. I think you should just try to be more comfortable in your own skin and that will assist you immensely in interacting with people.

I think everyone cares what other people to think to some extent, you just can't let that hold you back. For me I used to be very shy and socially awkward, but with time I just accepted who I was and what others thought of me eventually stopped holding me back. I think putting yourself in situations that are really difficult for you really helps, I know once I got a job where I had to interact with people regularly and did a public speaking class things seemed to change pretty fast for me. Finding good friends also helps alot :)

You need to put yourself in some mindset. Imagine you're with childhood friends at a big party and everyone is drunk and very interested. Come out very confident. If you can, start your presentation with a joke, people with be captivated by what you're saying, and feed off that.

It's a great opportunity. If you succeed, everyone will like you, if you fail, nobody cares. Enjoy your moment of glory and impress your audience.

You need to become more confident, and then it will come naturally to care less what others think, and to be less anxious. At least that is the case for me. There are a number of ways to become more confident, like improving your appearance. All you need to do is find a way which works for you, and then invest more time in that.

You need self-confidence. Or at least try to fake it.

So you're a shy person. Don't beat yourself up over it. People judge, that's life. But you have to ask yourself whether they're judging for a reason that you need to care about. Do they think your shirt is stupid? Who cares. Do they think the food you like is weird? who cares. Are you being an ass and hurting people's feelings? Care and change.

Die your hair green. Once you can do that, you've reached your goal.

Exactly what he said. I knew people in high school that aren't going to college (when they are able to) and have kids when they're working a minimum wage job in some retail store.

Be yourself. If being reserved is your thing than thats what you've got to do. Who knows that might change in a couple of years and you might become more out going. You just don't know whats going to happen, you only know how you feel currently. Theres no point lieing to yourself, and just ignore and shrug off anything anyone says.

i have been there and am still there

i really don't know how to help

but i find it amazing but GS kinda helped

i kinda found a voice :P

and it helped me know when to lose my voice in different subjects

kinda let them talk and get it over with :P

best advice find a close group of friends and read your paper proud ;)

You should care to a degree how others see you but honestly whats the worst thing thats going to happen to you in high school? I'd suggest you enjoy the small time you have left. Give them a bowel of justice served with a side order of AWESOME.
