I only hibernate if Im not going to use the computer for more than 4 hours, I shut it down at night though.
[QUOTE="pie-junior"]My Laptop hasn't been shut down in over 2 months.GazaAlithe horror of your cache... That b!tch can take it, It's been around.
Always shut it down, I don't like to leave computers running for long periods of time without using them.
I dhut it down at night. When I am on a job, I unplug everything that my PC is plugged into as well as other vampires. I can have $30 power bills while others have $100+.
Less the £10 a week power usage here. I live by myself so that helps and I tend not to have to use the heating as my PC room is small and with me, the pc, 2 monitors etc it heats itself up and I tend not to use other rooms other then the bathroom when I am in the flat and awake.I dhut it down at night. I shut mine down when ever I leave the flat or go to bed. Think of the planet with all of you using pointless electric leaving it on when not in use, I don't even leave my tv on stand-by.

dem 100 watts o no
1 100 watt incandescent
and if ur using a laptop on 24/7 it uses like 25 watts
also a tv in standby probably uses around 5 watts, that is absolutely nothing
a mcirowave uses like 1000watts

Yeah, and a computer in sleep mode might use a couple of watts at most. An electric toothbrush charger pulls more.[QUOTE="Rick_Sure"]

So if 1000 people do it.......100,000.......1m people.....over a year......it all adds up. its all wasted pointlessly. My Microwave turns itself off after 20 mins. The only things in my flat that's on all the time is the fridge/freezer and my bedside alarm clock.[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"][QUOTE="Rick_Sure"]
