Airsoft Help- New Guns

Hey, I am just starting to play airsoft, and I would like an idea about what secondary gun I should get. I am getting the SM-8 XM8 Spring Airsoft Assault rifle off of AirSplat.com for about $30. It has a speed loader, red dot sight, and an fps of 390. I would like to get another spring secondary gun, which would be preferrably good at close to medium range for less then or around $20. I would like it to be over 250fps as well, and something I can get off of Airsplat. Any suggestions?

With that out of the way I will answer your question. Low budget springers tend to preform the same mainly because they are made of similar materials internally...pick the one you think looks the coolest.

**btw I wouldn't trust Airsplats FPS readings they tend to lie about the FPS...They said my friends BE AUG would go 330FPS and it actually chronoed quite a bit lower.... I believe my TM SOC16 actually read higher than it on the chrono when it was stock***

You can provide us with some $50 spring guns you are looking at, then we can say if its worth it. Airsplat is great though, my friend just got his gun from them, and he loves it (its a $140 electric)Gamerkat

yeah they have improved a great deal in the past year...I still don't believe the FPS chronos they seem to be pulling out of no where though.

idk, I used a shotgun alot, it was accurate, I really dont think fps matters, as long as its more than 250. Most guns have fake fps, if they are the cheap guns.

I am dead set on the XM8, and I also have a pretty limited budget. Getting a $70 gun isn't really going to work with me... I have only about $30 left so spend after buying the XM8, so I just need to know if I should just get a 280fps pistol, a shotgun, or another kind of rifle. And I am not going to get an electric or gas one, just spring. Besides, what is wrong with the XM8? I know a couple people who have them and none of theirs broke...

dude I got a like $50- $70 electric M4 and it still works. Had it for like 3 years.

Of course my two pistols broke. They were both awesome but one got jammed and the other's spring broke.

it's Trickmyster....and 9/10 of your 50 dollar m4s are broke consider yourself lucky.

@UnknownSniper....You are probably right but I always try to convince people to actually put a little money into the sport if they wanna actually be serious about it and have fun, I can assure you I never had any fun on my springers.
