I am thinking of getting me a nice airsoft sniper, but I'm not sure which one to buy.

I know:

Springs you need to cock every shot

The bolt action of a Sniper will make having a gas rifle somewhat pointless, but I want better firepower, range and accuracy.

So from people I want to know which is better?

Spring Action or Gas Action

NOTE: I plan on getting a Bolt action L96 so i'm not looking for firing rate

I prefer gas powered airsoft guns. And electric. I have two gas powered Mk.23 pistols and they are twice as accurate as my buddies spring loaded rifle and get about an extra 50fps. So naturally a gas powered rifle with be superior to spring rifle. go to airsplat.com. They have the best deals IMO.

I have a spring powered sniper rifle (The UTG l96) and I think it is a great gun after a few upgrades. I like the bolt action just because it is far more reliable and is VERY easy to work on imo.

Spring all the way. With gas you have to worry about just that: gas. I have a JG BAR10 that shoots well over 520FPS with .30 BBs (with upgrades of course) and I only spent about $260 total. The gun itself being the bulk of the cost ($110). So for a cost effective purchase, spring all the way.

Yeah the L96 is a great sniper out-of-the-box as it shoots around 400FPS stock. What are you shooting now and what upgrades have you done?

i'd get a gas powered one. i went to the airsoft gun range with my friend and he thought his spring guns were top-notch, but everyone had gas powered guns. and i think 2 of his guns jammed.

Gas powered pistols are great. But when it comes to rifles, you're gonna want an AEG (automatic electric gun) and for snipers I say spring. Gas powered rifles tend to be much priecer then thier electric/spring counterparts.
