I'm surprised that the first reply is almost exactly what I was going to say. Good work. Also, Fables From A Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times Is True by Fair To Midland and Made In Chenobyl by Viza.In Absentia by Porcupine Tree. Actually anything by Porcupine Tree. Songs on that album I particularly like are Blackest Eyes, Trains, The Sound of Muzak, and The Creator Has a Master Tape.

I'm not in the mood to make a big list now so I'll only mention one: Lizard by King Crimson. I think most KC fans just skip this album because of the bad reviews it gets (in any case it is very underrated). It's a fantastic album though, one of my favorites too.
Indoor Games
Happy Family
Lady of the Dancing Water
(the other two tracks are also great but these 3 I find are the high points of the album)
Bernstein, Count Basie, Miles Davis, Gershwin.
and no its not some rock that no one's heard.

All are very famous. Gershwin and Bernstein are very highly regarded when it comes to 20th century classical music, Miles Davis is perhaps the most famous jazz trumpeter ever and Count Basie is one of the masters of swing. If you mean that the general listener doesn't listen to them then perhaps but I find it more than a bit ridiculous to call the greats of a genre overlooked (no offense intended).
kerl Love is dead (despite the tittle it has a great peaceful sound)
