What are the albums that you believe are classics that everyone, regardless of musical taste should hear?

I have four: The Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles, High Violet by The National, and The Suburbs by Arcade Fire.

I like the Slim Shady LP but it just doesn't do it for me like the Marshall Mathers LP. Same for the Eminem Show. My favorite by him is actually Recovery but I feel like one or two tracks hold it back from classic status, though I love the whole album.

Arcade Fire - Funeral JML897

I've only had Funeral for about two weeks and have only listened to it about 3 times but it could definitely enter the list.

I don't have too many albums in mind I consider classics. In fact, I can only remember one: Montrose (self-titled).

M13L13S

There aren't any. Every one has such different tastes that there isn't a single album on the planet that every one will enjoy enough to warrant a listem. I can name classic and famous albums, but it's not worth everyone's while to listen to them.

The first few times I listened to it I liked it, but then months later it just completely clicked with me one day. I think it's so much better than The Suburbs. I'd say The Suburbs is my least favorite album of theirs.

The lack of actual classic albums in this thread disturbs me. Least OP chose one.

The White Album - The Beatles

Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

Magical Mystery Tour - The Beatles

Revolver - The Beatles

Abbey Road - The Beatles

Rubber Soul - The Beatles

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles

Fore! - Huey Lewis and the News

Precious Time - Pat Benatar

The list could go on forever.

CHOASXIII

This guy knows what's up.

I'm just gunna go out on a limb and add in a bunch:

Pink Floyd - Piper, Meddle, Dark Side-The Wall.

Led Zeppelin - I-Physical Graffiti.

John Lennon - Imagine.

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced.

Boston - Boston.

CCR - Cosmo's Factory.

Van Halen - Van Halen.

The Who - Live At Leeds.

The Clash - London Calling.

Metallica - Ride The Lighting-Metallica (The Black Album).

The Doors - The Doors.

I've heard many other songs by many other artists, but a lot of the songs I like tend to be on different albums, so instead of putting each album, when I only like 1-2 songs or w/e on them, or putting a "Greatest Hits" album, I'll just leave them out.

Every time we have a thread like this it always makes me realize i am missing out on some great albums. It also makes me realize that most of the people in here haven't listened to much music before the '60s...and VERY little jazz.

I have/will occasionally, but, like I said in my post, a lot of the songs that I love of some artists were pretty much "one hit wonders" off some of the albums they put out, and I thought it'd be silly to put those albums, when I only like a couple of the songs, instead of the majority, or a Greatest Hits album of the artist lol.

Just because an album isn't entry-level classic rock doesn't mean it can't be a classic.

None of my albums are classics. I had to restart my collection earlier this year (Dad sold all my CD's in a garage sale last year). :x

The most classical album that I own would be Love (Expanded Edition) by The Cult, which I bought last week.
