How many people here drink. I personally dont. No real reason why, i just dont see the point. AA7
I don't either. It all tastes like crap to me. It's like drinking gasoline.
im 19, drinking this minute before going to work, been drinking since... well i cant really remember, im scottish so its like water to us :P. I prefer ciders then spirits, best beign magners and absynth. If my digital camera was working i'd show you my kitchen which has around 3000 empty bottles and cans as decoration. I usually go drinknig 3 to 4 times a week.
To be honest the only country that dsnt seem to drink much is usa (in comparison to other 1st world countries)
Very rarely and very little; I've seen people come close to od-ing, and after a few experiences with that the drug actually scared me.
wtf, u cant overdose on alcohol unless you drink your bodyweight in booze which is pretty much leathal even if it was water, unless your a total lightweight who cant handle his drink and freaks out then hurts him/herself.Very rarely and very little; I've seen people come close to od-ing, and after a few experiences with that the drug actually scared me.

One of the person's I've seen come close to od'ing actually had a very high tolorance for alcohol, turns out she drank a fifth of vodca and a bunch of other stuff. I'm just glad she stumbled into my room while intoxicated, if me and my roomateds hadn't taken care of here she probably would have died.Very rarely and very little; I've seen people come close to od-ing, and after a few experiences with that the drug actually scared me.

Alcohol poisoning can happen to anyone, and can happen very easily. I have seen a kid kill a bottle of vodka by himself. He almost died....then I saw another person do the same thing - all he got was a bad bad hangover. It does have like....EVERYTHING to do with your weight.Very rarely and very little; I've seen people come close to od-ing, and after a few experiences with that the drug actually scared me.

Jesus Christ!Similarly, I don't get why so many people think it's the be-all-and-end-all. I have seen what alcohol does to people and have then made a conscious choice that I do not wish for that to happen to me. I'd be willing to wager that a good percentage of people who drink only do so because a large majority of society does, and they want to feel included. Well, I am not a sheep. I question what I do and why I do things, and based on that, I then decide whether I want to do something. Furthermore, you'll probably not be able to appreciate this, but you'd be surprised how annoying it gets having to explain to just about everyone why you chose not to drink. Seriously, some people simply cannot fathom how I don't do so. And to me, that's mind-boggling. :|
I can't believe there aren't just so many non-drinkers, which is crazy in it's own right...
But all these could be drinkers that don't that sport this "I no drink! I no drink EVA! Drinking is teh stupid!" mentality.
Drinking is great, socially it's one of the best was to loosen up.
I mean, I refuse to even call a party a party without booze of some sort involved.
I drink a lot myself... Probably too much... But what ever, I work hard for my vice.
But I just don't get how so many write it off...

Are you just afraid of not having any self-restraint? Because the majority of people who drink do it in a responsible manner, and its the people that you use as an excuse not to drink, that are the exception.

I am at university and surrounded by students. Trust me, drinking in moderation is not even heard of here. Ok then, here's a few more points as to why I don't drink. - It's very expensive. I honestly don't know how some people can afford that kind of lifestyle. Their priorities are clearly much different to mine. - I don't like the atmospheres where drinking takes place. From my experience, they always seem to be filled with loud, obnoxious people...as well as loud, obnoxious music that I really don't like either. I just don't like being around such people and in such places. - People constantly try to persuade me to start doing what everyone else does......but what they don't realise is that by doing that, they're actually making it even less likely. - People use the whole "don't knock it until you've tried it" thing. Well, I have no desire to smoke or use drugs, but I don't need to do that to know that they're bad (in my opinion) and that I don't want to do them. - ...well, to be fair, there's not much more I can say. That's all about there is to it. I just don't see the whole craze as desirable. I am so against the whole agenda that I know for a fact that I'll never do it. The more I learn about it, the more I am deterred from it, because I honestly see no positives from where I'm standing. Oh and finally, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't think I'll ever understand people in this respect, and similarly, I don't think people'll ever understand me either.

It isn't going to kill you to have a beer now and then. You may think it tastes like old piss the first few you drink... but keep drinking it and you'll acquire a taste for it. Then you'll find how complex and flavorful it can be, and how refreshing it is when you're hot and thirsty. I think a nice cold bottle of Guinness Draught is one of the best drinks ever conceived by man.

I drink, but not all that often.
Still, nothing (and I mean nothing) beats a cold beer after a long day. Unless it's a crappy beer, like Coors or Corona or Guinness or something.

When you're not drinking, "parties" aren't fun. It's a fact. Honestly, once I stopped drinking, I still went to parties, but it just wasn't fun because I wasn't clowned. So, you're either in or you're out. Going to an auto show when you hate cars isn't exactly fun. You dig? It's just a matter of finding the proper avenue to entertain your tastes and common interests with other people.
No offence, but you sound exactly like the type I would avoid at a party.
But that's ok, you also sound like you don't like to party.
I can't imagine you'd have much fun at one anyhow.
And am I right in assuming, you've NEVER drank? That's the impression you're leaving anyhow...
If that's true.... Well..... Stop knocking drinking. You have no clue Mr. Garrison, Mmkay?
