Alcohol prohibition wouldn't work, and everyone knows it, history shows it. Only allowing alcohol to be bought on set dates wouldn't work because everyone would be buying even more of it.

I don't understand why a government would ban something that can be made at home or regulate which day you can purchase it. Both are counter productive for tax revenue and regulation of the industry.
