For those of age in their respective countries, we've all got a favorite alcoholic beverage. We also usually remember the first drink (not the sips your parents gave you) that we ever had. I consider myself a higher class drinker, meaning I won't touch that cheap light beer garbage that American companies are so apt to sell. My first legal beverages was a classic Guinness. Since then I've developed a taste for wheat beers, specifically Boulevard wheat and 312. I also enjoy a good glass of Jack or some Jack and coke on occassion.

So OT, what are your favorite alcoholic beverages? Your first legal beverage?

Knob creek is especially good with mineral water.

I don't drink beer.  I drink wine.

I prefer a good glass of Tignanello.

Coke with a nice rum or Whiskey is pretty delicious.

And how about a good dinner wine? I don't drink a lot of wine because I can't afford it but a nice wine is also pretty delcious.

You don't drink it for the taste, but for its effects. And it's best drank when mixed with something that actually tastes good.

Why waste money on alcohol? Smoking weed, and taking some Viagra sounds like a hell of a better party.

For me, I don't like the taste of most alcohol, but I have come to enjoy drinking whiskey slowly so that I can taste all the different flavors it has to offer. It can be a very nuanced drink.

It just seems like a scam to me. It's just Welch's juice with alcohol and some yeast.

Have you actually ever had wine? It certainly enhances the palate. And whiskey has an incredible amount of flavor once you become acclimated to the alcohol.

Water is healthier. Anything that comes from Natural Spring Water.

Cleans out your liver and kidneys, maintains balance of body fluids, controls your calories, energizes muscles, and satisfies your thirst.

Alcohol ruins your body and keeps making you thirstier, just like soda.

Drink H2O ;)

Favorite drink: either Captain or Jack and Vanilla Coke

First legal drink: Four Loko Fruit Punch

First ever alcoholic drink that got me drunk: a couple bottles of Smirnoff Ice Green Apple. was about 14 or 15 i believe. we were riding around.  got home and puked in the front yard. though wasnt the normal puke, heave, puke a little more. it was just a clear projectile vomit and that was that.

my first legal drink was a sam adams boston lager i think, but i was mainly focused on it being probably the one time i ever wanted to be carded and i wasn't :P

i'll sometimes drink liquor, but i mainly drink beer. weihenstephaner hefe weissbier is my favorite. one i've taken a liking to recently is sam smith's oatmeal stout. i'm more than happy with either.

Can't stand Guiness.  Can't stand mainstream American shit either.  Miller light is only good because it doesn't fill me up and doesn't taste like donkey testicles.  I prefer craft beers, German lagers and certain ales.  I also sample the French wine at Trader Joe's.  As for hard alcohol, I like Bourbon.  Maker's Mark is smooth, but lacking flavor.  Knob Creek has a varied flavor and will get you f*cked up quick, probably my all-time favorite liquor.

Guinness is the way to go. It's all I drink now. If not at the bar, I get the 8 pack 14.9 oz cans. Fills up a pint glass perfectly. I also like bourbon on the rocks, or if I have a cheaper kind like Jim Beam, it's mixed with Coke.

Good call on the Guinness, OP. I'd recommend the foreign extra stout if you haven't tried it.  I like Sam Adams when I drink American. If I need a cheap piss water, Yuengling works. Slightly partial to Jameson's whiskey. Haven't fallen in love with an American whiskey, yet, but I'm working on broadening my horizons. Have liked a few scotches and German beers.

I consider myself a higher class drinker, meaning I won't touch that cheap light beer garbage that American companies are so apt to sell.

ferrari2001

Most countries measure the alcohol in beer by volume. Most US companies measure the alcohol in beer by weight.

According to this chart, cheap-ass Budwiser and Coors both have 1.0% more alcohol by volume than your precious Guinness.

I think my first legal drink was a blue mf or a wild turkey. I don't know, I just drank whatever my friends gave me (always a wise decision). I am not all that knowledgeable about alcoholic beverages. I pretty much just drink Pabst Blue Ribbon because it's cheap and everywhere and I have some good memories associated with it..

Yea, Guinness is a pretty poor example of a stout. Unfortunatly though, most people only know brand name and not style. Now while I don't completely hate Guinness, I wouldn't go out if my way to buy it either unless it was all they had outside of American Adjunct Lager. Guinness in America isn't even brewed in Dublin nor is it probably nearly as good as it would be in Dublin. Bottled and canned American Guinness is actually brewed in London Ontario Canada by the Labatt Brewing Company. The only Guinness coming to America out of Ireland is draft beer shipped in a keg but even that wouldn't be up to par since only Cask and Bottle Conditioned beers ship well overseas. Craft beer is the way to go though. Especially something that is brewed locally since that is usually going to be the freshest unless that beer was meant for second or third fermentation in the bottle. And if you want to try good Bourbon at an affordable price, I recommend Rare Eagle which is around 30.00 a bottle and has been aged 10 years. Buffalo Trace isn't half bad either and is around 5.00 cheaper. Both are from the same distillery. http://www.spiritsreview.com/reviews-bourbon-eagle-rare-10.htm

Craft beer, Home brewed beer, Ales, etc.  Also enjoy a good Scotch or Irish whiskey every now and again. Some of my favorite beer companies are Stone, Dogfish Head, Sierra Nevada, etc.

Have had several bells beers. Their Hop Slam is an insane IPA but not for someone that isn't big on hops.
