It's not suprising really, although don't look at this post as a bashing to Gamespot, I'm sure this happens at other sites too :)

I this such a bad thing? I don't think it is.xscrapzxIt is... They are manipulating asupposedlyunbiasedgame site to sell games.
Yeah. Gamespot has lost a lot of cedibility the past few monthsfreshgman
This has nothing to do with that bud.
Unsurprising, although I thought the note would have read:
If it has good graphics, give it a 9.5 or 10.

Not really...
"GameSpot ran their review for this game based on a copy bought in a store and they panned it for what it was."

Why would gamespot change a review just to get it in before the release date?
That's not influencing a review score, though.CerussiteYeah. I don't see why its that bad, they aren't telling him to rate games over 9.0.

How is helping a company that without this supposed gameing company this site wouldn't even exist doing them a favor on when to let a review out a bad thing? It has nothing to do with being biased at all, its simply helping out a developer or a company such as Sony make some money on a game even if it does bad in a review. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I'd also think that it's looking out for their own asses. If they post a bad review early despite the company's request, I'd imagine that could make the company decide not to give them advance copies of future games.

Good point, I mean unless there is some contract that they have written that these developers or companies such as MS or Sony have to give them a copy.
1) the fact that the developer of the game is asking for it does not effect GS creditability but rather the developers as I find it hard to believe that this sort of letter would not be sent to IGN, Gamepro etc
2) Did Gamespot actually comply with the request? if not its a mootpoint.

Lair? :?
That actually means nothing....:|LJS9502_basic
You're right. I'm not sure why others are reacting so harsh.
[QUOTE="Sharvie"]It's not like they're the only site doing it.esb1118If Gamespot jumped off a bridge, would you do it too...?
That's not relevant. Developers/publishers would send that note to ALL reviewers.

agreed. it is up to the publishing company or in this case the website to ignore the letter.
