So, were down to the last week of summer break in my district. I dread going back to work. Do we have any other teacher gamespotters around?

What is being a teacher during summer like?
The best thing you can imagine... I literally did nothing all summer and still collected checks![QUOTE="Saxonhoo"][QUOTE="mfp16"]

My wife used to teach college back in China. When she came here a few years ago she was thinking of teaching HS, but then she saw how potentially dangerous it was teaching HS kids around here (most HS kids here are at least the same size, if not bigger than her) she decided against it.
Hope you are teaching at a safe place
your a teacher? Sweet! I'm not a teacher but I have a friend who is one.I knew her before she became a teacher though.
Im going to go to school to be a teacher, I cant wait to be a teacher :)

I have my final semester of law school coming up, and I teach a music theory class in the undergrad portion of the university. They start on the 24th, a week before we begin law classes. I'm a little ticked that I have to force myself into school mode 7 days early.

[QUOTE="muller39"] Thanks alot man, do you have any advice for a person that wanted to go to uni to be a teacher?mfp16As far as right now? Just study hard and don't go nuts when you get to university. When you finish and get your first teaching job you need to remember that the first 2-3 years are pure hell for just about everyone. I've seen more than one teacher in tears. Keep at it and it eases up and gets A LOT better when you get a bit of experience under your belt. Ok cool thanks for the advice! Any specific uni courses that I should take?
My apologies... I'm a math teacher and positively hated English... sorry. The lowest grade I got at university was in Comp... so I get a pass :P[QUOTE="its_me_"]A teacher who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're"? Curious.mfp16
No problem. Surely, though, you can see why that's a little discouraging to me, since you have the responsibility of educating America's future.

Any specific uni courses that I should take? make sure you take a classroom management course (it's not always required as part of your major, and is usually an elective). It will be the most useful class you ever take.
