Not quite a discussion on the show (it can turn into one if you like) but what happened to the article? The comments have been locked, did something controversial happen?

BTW its the article on nudity.

I was wondering the same thing. This wasn't the only article that I saw comments locked on. My guess is they were getting a bunch of comments calling the article stupid, because quite frankly it is. The reason why there's so much violence and nudity in Altered Carbon is because it's in the book. It was a pretty pointless article.

Haha yeah, if it is part of the book, of course it will be in the show. I personally am not a fan of huge amounts of nudity and the first ep has A LOT, as I feel it dents any impact if it is always present. BUT I did enjoy the action sequences, so I might watch a few more eps.

What did you think?

I still have one episode to go. I read the books and thought they were fantastic, but they have awful, cringe worthy sex scenes. Glad to see it was done better in the show. I actually really enjoy the show, but wish they didn't go so neon-glow with everything. Too reminiscent of Blade Runner. Seems impossible to make a sci-fi show without it... But, I hope this series continues because there's two more books of source material they can pool from and there are some pretty incredible things that happen in them.

Amazing show. Any article that brings the show or the contents of the show into question for the sake of, idunno, "social justice" is silly.

Is the future going to be like that? With prostitutes and lustful sex? Probably, but not because of shows like Altered Carbon and Game of Thrones; the world will go down the shitter because of reality TV.

The nudity isn't too distasteful. Unneeded but nothing that bad. One weiner, lots of boobs, and some crotch hair covering up the woman goods. About on the same level as Game of Thrones.

I watched a few hours of it, not sure what episode I got to.... It was kind of boring, I didn't feel like it had much of a narrative thrust and the supporting characters were bad and in the case of the cop love interest very annoying. The flashbacks didn't help. By the time Takeshi slept with Bancroft's wife I had enough of it.

It's not as graphic as some people are saying it is. I wish it was.

Not sure why they needed to change Takeshi's backstory either.

I didn't care for the "reason" behind all the events. His obsessed sister? REALLY? . Other than that it was a solid show. Cyberpunk is my favorite genre so, the more the better. Any shows you recommend?

It's pretty cool. I like the cyberpunk theme. Not a fan of the whole 'sleeve' thing, but it's a neat concept I suppose. The production is pretty good, and overall I like it. Still have two episodes left. I wouldn't call it great, since I haven't binged it, and that tends to be an indication of a great show to me... or a really, really terrible one I cannot for the life of me tear myself away from.

Loved it. it's nice to see a good sci-fi show with a high production value, there aren't enough of those.

I didn't see the article but the nudity and violence didn't stand out to me... seems an odd complaint to have to be honest.

What's up with James Purefoy and his junk? The dude takes every opportunity to show it off. He did it in Rome as well.

I imagine once you do it a few times, you kind of want to keep doing it? These people are actors, they like attention "Oh HAHA James is showing his junk again!"

lol true, but I'm not sure how the reputation of "the guy who's really proud of his weewee" goes over acting career wise.
