Do you mean the ball tracker mouse? Because my mouse is IR and it has a scroll wheel.Frattracide
eh? I thought the scroll wheel meant the ball underneath, either way I mean the really old fashion one with a ball underneath and no lasers and a wire
A ball mouse, you mean? The scroll wheel is the thing between the buttons.
I really don't see how you could think a ball mouse is easier.
I still use a ball mouse. I've used laser before, but it's not worth the hype. Ball mice don't stick if you clean them every once in a while. So what's the point?mechworrior762Laser mice don't need cleaning. :P

Well, in every fps I play, I play as a sniper, and I simply couldn't get the precision needed with a laser mouse or whatever. With my current mouse, the cursor moves exactly in the right pace, it's 6 years+ though so might need to get a new one.

You must have been using a really crappy mouse. The one I'm using came with my PC and it's very accurate and much more comfortable than a ball mouse.[QUOTE="mechworrior762"]I still use a ball mouse. Simple is best :x

You must have been using a really crappy mouse. The one I'm using came with my PC and it's very accurate and much more comfortable than a ball mouse.I tried what was the top of the line of gaming mouses a year ago, not my cup of tea, the mouse was just too big, and the cursor moved too fast, and if I turned down the sensitivity it just felt sluggish. It has balls, I like balls...
Right now, I'm using no mouse :P. I'm using the touch pad on my laptop now.
Definetely going to want to get a mouse soon, though. It'll probably be a laser one, too.
Is the laser mouse the mouse with the red light at the bottom? If so I have that kind.the_foreign_guyYes, sir.
Laser will last you years, ball will last you months... unless you enjoy struggling with your mouse to get the pointer over the submit button...Hungry_bunny
Mine is 6 years old and counting! Still works great

Whaaaaa? A long long time ago, I used to buy several mouses (mice?) a year for 9 bucks each. They lasted like a month before they started taking half inch steps across the screen when I tried to move them >.>[QUOTE="the_foreign_guy"]Is the laser mouse the mouse with the red light at the bottom? Most optical mouses use an LED(usually red).

Technically, I think there are three kinds of mice, the third being a variation on the standard ball mouse. Except it uses... some sort of optical stuff... to detect how it's rolling...
...anyone want to help me out here? I'm drawing a blank.

Ball mice are not more accurate than laser/optical mice. The only pro they have is that ball mice can be used over reflective surfaces where as leser/optical mice cannot.
