About an hour ago I started to get a ringing in my left ear. It hasn't stopped. I'm also having a bit of trouble hearing in that ear. Should I be worried? :?

I had this problem since very young and gets really worse whenever I am depressed or fatigued or oversexed, felt like underwater lol, at times I thought I was going deaf but it turned out that it got better when while I grew and now its all gone. I know for sure that ear ring is not uncommon, most time its just a minor glitch thats a complication to some other faults which will go away in hours or days. that said do see a doctor and request all tests. best hope.

Did you go out to a club last night or a concert or listen to loud music anywhere?

It could be tinnitus. Sometimes you get ringing in your ears after being in a very noisy environment and it is a warning that your hearing is being damaged. Prolonged exposure could make it permanent.

When you see people in the street with their ipods blaring or car stereos maxed you know they're going to have problems in later life

Be very, very careful with this. Abstain from all loud noise, even loud video games and music. I had a sudden onset of tinnitus (without the ear fullness). A week later, it had not stopped and the situation got worse. The sound of taking a shower became unbearable, I could deal with the clinking of plates in the dinning hall.... Its was and still is bad. I've gotten better, but its not gone by any means. If it doesn't go away after you sleep on it, vist doc.
