So, i went to an infected website and these were my results,

-With McAfee AV alone, It almost downloaded something without premission the moment i got there.(I had to disconect my PC to stop the download)

-With Norton AV alone, about 1 min after i got there, i got a virus alert from norton and the page stopped loading..

-With Avast AV 4.8 and COMODO PRO FIREWALL, I was able to surf through it with no problems for about 3 mins but it looked like it was trying to download something but it couldnt do it so i just left the website hehe.

Does this mean im more protected with avast and comodo firewall ?

They all recognized the virus. They just handled it differently.

Edit: Now that I reread it McAfee didn't. I guess that's why it's not rated as the best AV program/

Wait if I read that correctly you have 3 AV programs installed? I am surprised your computer even runs. If you have multiple AV installed they may just be conflicting with each other. Or maybe I am reading this wrong, it is kind of late. And BTW Mcafee needs to die in a fire.

reread - I would stick with a Norton, Comodo and Avast are decent at best. But you might want to run a serious scan on your computer. if you can get the webroot system analyzer I would try that.

That's what happened to me today... I no longer use Norton.

I use "The Shield Delux 09" and it pretty much blocks viruses pretty quick.

My two cents:

Norton is a god awful program. I contracted a virus from a website  The program actually re-wrote Norton, and turned it into an even nastier virus. Because Norton was re-written I could not uninstall to put a far more effective anti-virus program on my computer. I had to completely wipe my computer. The individual I had look at my computer was amazed that the virus was able to re-write Norton, which pissed me off. Seriously, why the hell are you excited that my computer got the "Rambo of all viruses"?

Get Adware (free) and stick to one firewall and antivirus would be my brief contribution. I think of the 3 you mentioned McAffee would be my choice...not fond of Norton or Avast. Kaparsky is/was my fav.

Yeah I use Kasperky as well. It's one of the best out there and constantly scores at or near the top in most tests. (Although it can't be used very well with Outpost Firewall)

Yes avast and commando are much better, though as 99% of anti viruses are signiture based if someone really wants to infect you they still can, have a look at race to zero if you want to know more.

I use Mcafee and i have for the past 3-4 years, i've never had one virus ever and when it did pick one up it'd just delete it for me. So my assumption would be if the Internet is so full of viruses why do i rarely get them? Mcafee is the only protection i got besides windows firewall and it works fine. I visit sites that could possibly give off viruses all the time to.

Though with your firewall yeah i guess you're protected.
