Do you consider yourself a goth, emo or neither?

I am too old to have ever been an emo. At school I was called a Goth, however, i wasn't a Gothy goth... meaning I wasn't madly into the cure and people (although i do like them now) I was (and to some extent still am) more of an industrial Goth with all my black, Doc Matens and chains. Samwel_X

When you make a topic here, it's bound to attract everyone. A 21 should know that.
I'm not a goth, though I hang out with a goth (and she is also my prom date). Kinda hard not to say your emo, since emo comes from...? You guessed it! EMOtional! Sorry, I'm not a robot.

Watch the quotes...that's disruptive posting and if you don't get along....keep it to yourself. On topic, I hope the emos and goths take over just to spite the haters.LJS9502_basic
Then the whole world would kill themselves and we'd have the apocalypse...lynch 'em all I say!
I don't approve of anything that has to do with cutting your self and writing poems of death and crap......Theempire30
I doubt they seek your approval.
theempire30 have you not read your own sig?neelia
Its an anime...I like anime...that doesnt make me goth/emo.
what is this obsession about emos and goth they dress how they want to dress, and if you dont fancy how they dress dont talk to them thats how they want to express theirselves there is more important things in life than judging people appearance lugiemojeed
I hate the emos because of how they act. I've never come across an emo I didn't hate, and that has nothing to do with how they dress. They're all cocky, moody, pretentious, unnecessarily dramatic, and completely void of originality. I hate the scene mentality, and the emos have taken it to such an extreme as to not even pretend like they're being different (like the punks, goths, etc claimed to be doing).
That said, I guess I'd call myself a punk. But I don't dress "punk", I don't care about my image, and I don't care about what other punks consider cool. I just do whatever the hell I want, regardless of what other people say and/or think about it. And the so-called "punk" scene can go to hell with all the other scenes for all I care. They're all conformists, so in the end, the only difference is how they dress.
[QUOTE="wrlyy"]I listen to Good Charlotte so I'm XxpunkxX
Taegukki
Dont associate Good Charlotte with Punk, its just plain crap. Calling it punk is an insult to all the great Punk bands out there and what they stand for. Good Charlotte is just a boy band with tattoos.
I believe he was being sarcastic...

you just fit into your own stereotype.Beaman
How so? I sometimes refer to myself as a punk because I share the original ideals. DIY, anti-fashion, anti-conformity, etc. I also enjoy a lot of the music. But I hate the scene and the fashion whores. Being "punk" means nothing to me. I could just as easily say I don't conform, or that I'm rebellious, but I find that I get fewer annoying questions when I just say punk.

Why don't you just be yourself insted of trying to classify yourself as something.....Life is much more enjoyable that way. I listen to so many different kinds of music you couldn't classify me in any group, which is just the way I like it!
