I'm no American but I love the Texan accent, but my friend call me redneck because I like them (I'm Asian btw). They said Americans are all stupid. Who else like the southern accents.

Depends on the region. Generic Texas accent is kind of cool but there's some southern accents that give the impression the person has a poor grasp on the English language.
Alot of people from oklahoma speak the southern accent but mostly its like "Yup Mr. Merrier got his bottom slapped by a rattlesnake" and I'll be like what?!? Yup sometimes the accents come with other things as well not just normal english.:P

I think I like it but I'm not sure. Did Sookie from True Blood have a southern accent? And the Raising Hope cast? If so, yup I think it's quite nice. If not I'm confused.
depends i grew up in the south so i do have kind of a southern accent but it is light compared to big southern accents. those really big and huge ones sound pretty bad though. but doesnt bug me cause i grew up around it so. i have a hearing problem so i certainly understand a southern accent a lot easier than any other accent.
A light southern accent is pretty cool... unfortunately a small percentage of southerners have a serious case of mississippi mush mouth and you can't even tell what the hell they're trying to say.
That depends on what you mean by a Southern accent. If you are talking of back-woods Appalachian or Alabama accent, then it can be humorous. If this accent is a lengthening of the occasional vowel from a soft-spoken girl who is capable of correct grammar, that's pretty much great.
They're great; gives the Southern folks their own identity; you go through USA with all the people in almost the same US accent; and then these guys. Really; i like it. Khao Faoks :p

i think its funny. it always cracks me up listening to southern accents, like Brad Pitt's accent in Inglorious Basterd

On the right woman it can be quite sexy. I have an uncle from georgia and his accent sounds very distinguished, so I think there is a variety to the southern accent as well.
Back in my undergraduate, there was this texan chick in my class with really red hair. I was involved at the time so nothing happened, but that was one hot texan.:)

I would never want to have a Southern accent and I am quite content with my dorky Upper Midwestern accent, but I don't hate the Southern accent. Sometimes I kind of enjoy listening to it. Occasionally my friends and I speak with fake Southern accents for fun.
