the scene with the axe and Jared Leto, where he is explaining Huey Lewis and the News (or whatever group it was), is easily one of my all-time favorite scenes in any movie
It was cool. I love that scene where he's got Huey Lewis and the News. Hilarious.smc91352
ahhhhh beat me to it lol
The movie wasn't bad, but it doesn't hold a candle to the book. There was things in there that will NEVER be put on the screen, no matter what kind of rating the movie would have gotten.

I've wanted to read more Ellis' novels...They don't have them on audiobooks though, and 99% of my "reading" is through audiobooks. I should read American Psycho again...The movie wasn't bad, but it doesn't hold a candle to the book. Some of the killings in the book are EXTREMELY graphic. I can't even describe what some of them are without getting in trouble myself. Aside from that, the movie for the most part follows what's in there. The movie wasn't bad, but it doesn't hold a candle to the book. I happen to own a few audio books read by the authors themselves; Tracy Morgan, Artie Lange and George Carlin.[QUOTE="VGCReporter"][QUOTE="Hallenbeck77"]

Graphic as in "how did this book managed to get published?" kind of way. The book is written from Bateman's point of view, so he describes in extreme detail some of the things he has done. It's a decent read, but it's not for everyone.[QUOTE="VGCReporter"][QUOTE="Hallenbeck77"] Some of the killings in the book are EXTREMELY graphic. Like I said, some of his kills are in very graphic detail; I can't descirbe them without getting modded myself.[QUOTE="VGCReporter"][QUOTE="Hallenbeck77"] Graphic as in "how did this book managed to get published?" kind of way. One of my favorite dark comedies next to Happiness, and Harold and Maude. I think it is better than the book. The book may be more brutal, but it didn't feel as polished overall narrative wise. I think the film has a more focused feel and overall I enjoyed it more.

But some of the killings were graphic and rather disturbing. The book is there abouts a hundred times better than the film. Which kind of renders the film, while a decent stab (pun intended) at adapting it for screen, a failure.

For some reason I didnt get into the book much. It was pretty good, and much more graphic thats for sure. I didnt like it as much though, but then again I read it years ago. I actually want to re read it now to give it a second chance:P
