Um hurray for generalization :| Not all Americans are stupid. Every country has their idiots, and people who stereotype other countrys or cultures are idiots and hypocrits.
You can do that in any country. Sure we have our share of morons, but so does the rest of the world.
That video has been posted here so many times...the video's main purpose was to reinforce a sterotype. Of course they didn't bother showing any of the Americans who answered the question properly.
every country has its share of idiots, like a lot of peps already said...however im not saying that all the americans are idiot...im saying that the ones in the vid (I bet that most of them were not even americans) are really stupid and its extremely sad to see their answers...
I think an appropriate generalization would be that people in general are idiots, not necessarily Americans :P On a serious note, I have noticed many of my fellow Americans fitting the moronic / arrogant sterotype we get. Hell, a girl in one of my classes said: "Who cares about 9/11? That happened like 8 years ago." -___-Um hurray for generalization :| Not all Americans are stupid. Every country has their idiots, and people who stereotype other countrys or cultures are idiots and hypocrits.

The part about what country to invade is pretty freakin funny, especially the older black guy who kept naming countries.

Reminds me of the polish and black jokes that people used to say to dehumanize those groups. Hooray for biggots!

And the United States is very well educated in comparison to most other countries. In Africa, it is believed that eating the flesh of Albino humans can cure diseases, and half of the population of Georgia(the country) cannot read. As I said, most human beings in general are stupid.
And I wonder how many Americans they asked these questions to who got them right, without showing the right answers? If you can't see that, you are pretty stupid.

[QUOTE="Kamekazi_69"]some countries are more educated than others though Doesnt contribute to the American stereotype at all. But that doesnt excuse the act or irrationality. Some of the most educated people have made moronic actions, while some of the most uneducated succeeded to the almost impossible. The USA has a great educational system compared to many countries. It is a trend to think that the USA should be number 1 at everything (including education) but just like every other country, we have out internal problems, and have alot to correct. Above all. the US has some of the top educational departments in the world.Um hurray for generalization :| Not all Americans are stupid. Countries like India and China have more honor students, people with high IQ's, then we have in total population here in the U.S. There may be smart people here, but the number will never be as large as other countries.

I'd like to see a source on that one.....Sadly, a lot of people will base their perceptions of Americans off of this kinda stuff : / I've heard my fair share from fellow Canadians calling Americans idiots when the cultures are pretty darn similar.SetsaStereotypes are stupid. I'm from Texas and have to deal with the whole stupid southerner stereotype. There are just as many morons and intelligent people in the south as the rest of the country.

IQ tests are BS in the first place. If anything more "honor students" in India and China would be due to the fact that both countries have 2-4 times the population that the US, so of course there could potentially be "more honor students". Still, I'd like to see a link. You haven't cited a source....[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]

I think this is a really bad sign :oWell fine, so says wikipedia, America is the 19th highest in average IQ. U.S has an average of 98. China, 12th on the list, with an average of 100. Finally India has an average of 81. I was wrong on india but not china. They have, on their average, more smarter people then we do. This only being possible due to their large number of people, but still doesn't make it any less true.
Professors are known to say idiotic things. I had a sociology professor who was a certified man-hater. She mad comments like all men have an instinct that makes them want to beat up their wives and that the world would be much better off financially if women ran everything. She would also bust out all kinds of ridiculous stats on why men ruin the world. Did she ever source anything? Nope. Therefore it was her own opinion instead of actual fact. Not everything professors say is fact, except maybe for studying for an exam in their class.
