I've eaten them with rice in Turkey (I spent 4 years there). I've also eaten something similar during a visit to NYC on one of the mobile roach coaches. $5 a full styrofoam container....it's pretty good.
Funny thing: half an hour ago admin from GAMESPOT makes for me warning for my AVATAR ... that is a pity. I always loved fanservice )))We can have them if we want to. ;)
Nice avatar, by the way TC. ;)

shawarmas are possibly the most amazing food ever created. when i lived in the middle east they were a regular part of my died.
you can find them in the states. mostly in the middle eastern parts of town. but they are no where near the quality of amazing that is offered in other countries. and ive yet to find a proper turkish style shawarma in the states. mostly a more lebanese influence. but all still great food

i think Shawarma's origin is from syria , we have it in all arab countries and i like it but i don't eat it very muchMAZ85It originated in Turkey.
Netherlands: In the Netherlands, shawarma (shoarma) is a popular meal. Here it is served as spiced lamb, chicken, beef or rarely, pork combined with salad and garlic sauce. It is generally served inside a small circular pitã bread, which is cut open upon which the meat is placed inside. It is usually served with French fries or potato wedges and can be bought from many places, including snackbars. Shoarma in the Netherlands is generally first spit roasted and after carving off s then grilled or fried, or a combination of both.wikipedia
I prefer Döner Kebab tho. :)
Isn't that gyro meat?wstfldGyros is Greek. It's almost the same, just with different spices I think.
we have that in the UK, having had plenty of Donner Meat in my time I can safely say they are among the worst things I've ever eaten :P
Hang on, from the Wiki entry, isn't that the same thing as Doners? When I was in Europe, there were so many doner shops I had one in each city I visited. I have a couple of Doner shops in my general neighbourhood though I've only eaten at one.
