I loved the book Angels and Demons, but the movie was kind of a mixed bag for me. I mean, they didnt change the Plotline much, however I think they did dispose of what made the book so great (such as the twist really wasnt that epic in the movie, and numerous reviewers stated that the film "refused to die" because of the twist). Also, I dont like Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon. I liked the casting otherwise (especially Ewen McGregor), and the way they constructed the Vatican was great. But it really wasnt that great. What is everyone elses thoughts on the Book to Movie Adaption?

I preferred the book much more... I was most disappointed at the end...
where they went to St. Peter's tomb, an epic moment in the book... just down a flight of stairs in the movie... lame
It wasnt that bad of an adaption. Some things were left out and some were changed but it actually stuck pretty close to it's source material.

Books are generally better than movies because without an actual image the writer has to describe the situation, which, in addition to giving vivid detail, also adds suspense. In a book, characters' emotions are described to you, but in a movie, everything happens instantaneously. That's a problem with Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code, because they're both supposed to be pretty suspenseful.

The adaptation wasn't that bad. For a movie, it was pretty good. For some odd reason, I prefer the movie "The Da Vinci Code" over "Angels and Demons", but I prefer Angels and Demons the book over The Da Vinci Code novel.

There were some some scenes re-edited and done differently mostly for the sake of the movie. It's been quite a few years and when I watched the scene where he goes up on the holicopter, didn't Robert Langdon go with him. But, the guy only had one parachute. So Langdon had to jump out without a parachute but somehow survived either by his coat and landed in the river? It's been almost 5 years since I read the book.

I hated Da Vinci so I probably won't see this one, da vinci wasnt even close to the same level as the book.

I didn't like it. Seeing each murder take place seem repetitive, where as in the book, there was plenty of reading length between the murders to catch my breath.

SPOILERS :

I cant understand why I slightly liked the Da Vinci Code a bit better, but some scenes in Angels and Demons I liked better like : SPOILERS The bomb sequence was stunning. The huge blast went out then the shockwaves falling down was spectacular, and Ewen going up in the helicopter with the bomb was emotionally great. But the movie was kind of average, not bad or anything. Im not saying its a bad adaption, but I thought it could have been better.
