EVERY 'don't forget to vote' sign has Obama's face on it. Thier are arrows written on the sidewalk in chalk showing you where to vote, and "vote obama" is written everywhere. The one place it said "vote mccain" it said "for more of the same" right next to it.

I guess I just think its really ignorant for people to assum that Obama is the only logical choice. I think Obama will do a good job when he becomes president, but I really don't like all this pressure to vote for him.

I'd also find this annoying..even though I'd probably vote for Obama if I was in the states, I wouldn't want a bunch of left wing influence following me around.

Get some chalk and make your own sign then...

I'm not sure why you expect it to reflect your views if you're going to do anything.

I'm just saying that "don't forget to vote" signs and signs that tell you where to vote shouldn't try to push a canidate on you. Signs like that don't promote democracy.

Well ANY campaign sign is going to want to encourage you to not forget to vote.... and to vote for them. That would pretty much exclude them all.

It also depends on the state. I lived in a place once where on the day ALL signs had to be taken down. Cops and volunteers actually went and collected them from people's lawns who didn't take them down. Other place, it's ok.

Anyway get some chalk.

So call up your local McCain supporters and let 'em know. I'm sure they'll be out there right away putting up signs.

Yeah, perhaps It's just because the campus Republican's arn't doing thier job. I'm not hardcore for either canidate so I probably won't invest in chalk.

I do think it would be a good idea if my college made some sort of similar election day rule.

It doesnt have anything to do with people thinking Obama is the logical choice.

The deal is this: people that dont vote tend to be more liberal-minded. Therefore, they use Obama to appeal to these lazy-yet-liberal people.

In short, the people likely to vote for McCain do not need any convincing because they traditionally have a high percentage of voter turnout.

But, youre on college...my advice is to print out a bunch of McCain flyers, get some like-minded comrades together, and hand them out before people vote today. College is all about being an activists and college knowitall hippy.

The signs and arrows in chalk didn't magically appear - someone had to put them there. If you want to see McCain, Nader, or someone else instead, get some signs of your own and post them.

Ironically, I've seen a lot of "VOTE" written on the sidewalks, but only seen it associated with Obama on people's shirts, despite the fact that my college is incredibly liberal.

Then again, maybe they just assume that everyone (barring about 7 people) are voting for Obama anyways. :P

Colleges and Universities have always been more Democratic, or left leaning.

It was that way when I was in University, and its that way today.

When you are arguing in the realm of "theory" the left and the concept of socialized economics looks amazing, its just the nature of the beast.

Welcome to the university, the most liberal (and Godless, ironically) place on the face of the earth.

And you better believe that the on-campus organizations whose goal is to register college students to vote (and I'm sure there are plenty on your campus) know that the overwhelming majority of college students vote Democrat.

At least your university didn't make the news with this:

http://www.kbtx.com/home/headlines/33535179.html

An Anti-Obama carnival that had students egging posters of Obama... though this was by a student organization that's nuts compared to most students here.
