Animal Face-Off, Bear or Gorilla?

The human vs. gorilla thread I made a couple days ago could have been considered Animal face-off because that human looked like an animal, he was gross, so due to demand in that thread for bear vs. gorilla, here it is.

What do you think?

I would go with the Bear.

Oh, the bear. It's not even close to a fair match. The bear is far stronger than the Gorilla. I don't know how fast gorillas are, but some bears out sprint Olympic runners. The only thing I see a gorilla being able to do to slow his fate is to climb a tree and wait for the bear to catch up.

A fight I might pay to see. (Discreetly, of course, cause it's probably illegal).

i think gorilla has an advantage cuz it can pick up stuff. bears have strong bites and huge claws so its a tie for me

Bear. Bear's have won against Lions, Gorillas, and other large predatory animals in fights due to their huge mass. They have a very high muscle density. Over ten times that of humans, and several times that of other large animals.

I'm going with the bear. Sure gorillas are badass, but I don't think they stand a chance against those huge claws and teeth.

I'd go with gorilla because they are like huge people, but not as smart.

I'm gonna say bear... unless gorillas have some crazy super tough skin that a bear couldn't claw through. I also think a bear can handle blunt force attacks pretty good.

well, the only thing the gorilla really has is agility, and intelligence.

im thinking that a gorilla could be trained to throw stuff like big rocks (like in the dumb video someone posted), and in that case the gorilla would probably win.

so it depends on whether the gorilla is educated. and well, if throwing rocks fails, bagpipes!

and smash biplanes. it would be useful if the bear used one.

Depending on the matchup, the Bear may be a good 3 times more massive and about 50% taller than its opponent here. They're also very resistant to bullets (pistol shots that would drop a human have been utterly ineffectual on those things) and possess a much more powerful selection of natural weapons as well as far more willingness to actually use them. Gorillas for all their apparent competitiveness are still herbivores first and foremost.

The bear. The bear can weigh 3 times as much as the gorilla (some in Alaska, British Columbia and the Yukon can grow to 1500 Ibs) While the Gorilla can grow to 400 pounds.

Grizzly's can grow up to 8 feet while the gorilla can only grow up to maybe 6 feet. Gorilla can run 40 km while bears can run 56 km. The bear has teeth as does the gorilla, but the bear has 3-4 inch claws. The bear is stronger. The bear wins all the way.
