Anime fans: Where do you draw the line?

With the shows you watch? Because there are some....er, a lot....that are pretty horrid or isn't made to appeal to your demographic.

I will *not* watch any "Magical Girl" genre anime like "Pretty Cure". It's made for toddler to elementary school girls in Japan and there's no way I can watch one without getting very irritated. Even the anime version of Powerpuff Girls had me rolling my eyes and sighing heavily....and I like Powerpuff Girls.

I'm actually the complete oposite, I found Project A-ko(Shoujo) more injoyable then Ranma 1/2(Shonen).

I don't like shounen (anime aimed at male children and young teenagers) such as Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece. And I suppose anything else that just doesn't look good. Zaeryn

I mostly just hate anime with very cliche art, where every character has MASSIVE eyes and look the same, Also a terrible story. I enjoy anime with a realstic art style (cowboy bebop, Samurai Champloo) or over top and stylish (bleach, FLCL)

To the TC: Well, I actually like Card Captor Sakura, A LOT, but for some reason every other similar anime I've ever watched just makes me cringe, dunno why that is, I guess it's just the fact that Clamp are anime godesses. :P

Forgot about that. Or any board game/hobby activity that turns mundane things like Shogi or RC racing into some giant life altering event where kids use some magical techinque to beat their rivals. It's just unbelievably absurd.

I tend to avoid animes with a dreadful story.

The only reason I'm keeping with Naruto is because of the story, it's great, IMO.

Some average-looking kid walks down a random street when a burglar cuts in front of him and out of nowhere takes out a deck of cards and a dueling-hologram thingy...

Burglar: Prepare to duel! If I win I'll take your cards and your money!

Kid takes out his own deck and hologram thingy...

Kid: You won't take my stuff! Let's duel!

I don't watch Elfen Lied. I draw a line at that and anything that involves too much nudity or like sex. It starts to ge weird from there.

I know, Chobits and Evangelion are my all time favorite anime shows, I just can't tell which one I like more. :P

But if you like the art style, why don't you watch anime then??? :?

i don't know, pick and choose.

if i don't like the first episode, i probably won't watch it through unless i hear from someone that it actually is good.

Girlish and immature anime enjoyed by a large chunk of the male anime population such as Rozen Maiden...

I despise most anime.

The good ones, like Hellsing, are some of the best shows ever.

It needs to have very specific content for me to actually enjoy it, but I like variety when it comes to genres.
