anime good animes lately?

i just finished watching the new full metal alchemist anime and it was pertty damn good, but thats pretty much all ive been watching for the past year, school's been keeping me kinda busy, but now its summer i feel like catch up on some anime, and i was just wondering, whats been good for the past season or two? id pretty much watch anything as long as its good, and sometimes even when its not, tho id perfer something with mechs or perhaps involves some sword play but its not a must, and ive watched gundam00 both seasons, and the previous gundam animes also ive watched bleach and naruto and have pretty much given up on those a while ago, oh just in case, i also saw the old FMA, alright thats enough ranting, help me out, thanks

If you have not seen it, try out Gurren Lagann. Absolutely amazing

yeah azumanga was really funny, but iven never watcher maria holic, so i might give that a try, also been meaning to watch afro samurai but some how got distracked, i saw shamploo, idk, the story didnt really grab me. thanks for the tips, keep them coming.

It's an anime that was derived from the manga.. It's really good... I recommend it since you like Death Note...

Since we're on the topic of anime's could someone help jog my memories. I'm not sure if there's an anime based off of it or not, but anyway, the manga reminded me of death note a lot, the storyline is something along the lines of the government picking people and sending them letters or something like that. The letters say that they only have an hour/a day/I don't remember the time limit to live, and the purpose it to teach people about how life is precious.forgot_it

I want to read that manga now... Hope someone knows what you're talking about..

I think both the subs and dubs are good for both animes.

BTW, if you don't like filler, you should avoid Ranma 1/2 completely. It's mostly a slice-of-life anime with no real direction or consistent storyline (though, as you watch it, you'll understand why the nature of the anime fits perfectly with that structure). I liked it simply because of the characters and humor.

Well I just finished Chaos Head, which was pretty damn sweet. It was like NGE meets Descartes meets Fight Club twists. I still got a crapload to watch though, so here's what else there is.

Looks like we got ourselves a funny guy here.

If you are into mecha, watch Gurren Lagann. Best mecha anime EVER! Code Geass is pretty good too although its really not as good. Black Lagoon is a great action anime with an AWESOME dub. If you are looking to branch out to other genres, check out Clannad and Angel Beats. OH WAIT!!!! If you havent, go watch Neon Genesis Evangelion!!!! Although I dont thinks its quite as good from mecha anime perspective as Gurren Lagann is, the stuff explored in that show is just great. Once you finish that, you will be scratching your head, SO then watch End Of Evangelion and for some awesome sauce go watch Rebuild Evangelion 1.1 and 2.22....

Ah... I'll keep an eye out for that though the 4 episodes I have vied didn't seem to have any of that. Maybe they will start with it now? From my understanding (google for 1 minute) they are just censoring some gore which I guess isn't a big deal cause it's still pretty graphic.

saw gurren lagann, eva, and eva 1.1, and i am currently watching HOTD (house of the dead) tho so far i havent seen any parts that needs to be censored yet, no one shirt nor skirt has been damaged so badly that it needs censoring at this point

Hunter X Hunter is amazing, but I don't think the anime is done yet. Grappler Baki. The manga is much better. Hajime No Ippo, Tenjou Tenge, Ninja Scroll: The series, Legend of the Condor Hero (Korean audio, Eng sub). Hokuto No Ken, Japanese version. Dragonball japanese ver.

These are all movies: Vampire Hunter D and the sequel Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Ninja Scroll, Appleseed (The CGI movie). Blood: The Last Vampire (movie). Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter Alpha: Generations.

If that fails, watch Serial Experiments Lain, even if you don't understand it, you'll still be able to say it's better than most of the crap that's aired recently (Highschool of the Dead, Angel Beats, I'm looking at you.)
